So who do you think is going to win?

In men I think Roddick or Henman and one of the Williams Sisters in women.

The official site is:

Enjoy the fortnight. Tennis will be competing hard with Euro 2004 and the cricket ODI series between England, NZ and WI.

go Philippoussis!!! :k:

and umm any news on our desi ghoRa (okay maybe khota) aisam ul haq… is he participating in this yrs championships, and also, has he been playing many international tournaments, and how well is he doing?

it's a shame Justine couldn't be able to play....

i predict...

Men's Final - Roger vs. Roddick(Roddick winning it)

Women's Final - The Williams Sister(Serena takes the crown)

Ivanisevic (spell?) wins his first come back match at wimbledon after thee years. If he can get his act together, he always plays well here.

henmania all the way this time… :insha: ] the guy has reached 4 semis’ on grass @ wimbledon. if only he can go 1 step further this time around.

roger federer begun his campaign in style on monday defeating young gun bogdanovic in straight sets. given the form federer has been in all season i can’t c any 1 but roddick beat him.

I saw the match of Goran Ivanesiv. He looks out of fitness. I like his big serves but i dont think he will be able to pass the Q finals.

I think roddick will win

Maybe its not meant to be?

Even though he won in four sets today, it was far from a convincing win.

I like his game but i think he chokes. Biggest example was semi-final against Goran three years ago. Goran was not playing any special and yet he snatched victory from defeat and Henman panicked.

Serena wins first round in straight sets - and Venus is back in contention.

Martin Safin is out - the poor run at wimbeldon continues...

Martina Navratilova becomes the oldest player to win at wimbeldon at the age of 47.

WIMBLEDON - DAY TWO

Rain once again ambushed the best laid plans of Wimbledon's scheduling committee - not to mention the hopes of fans who expected to see the likes of Roddick, Rusedski, Capriati and Mauresmo in action. But despite the interruptions, many top seeds took to the courts and the patient crowds were treated to stirring local successes.

Following tradition, defending Ladies' Singles champion Serena Williams opened her campaign on Centre Court. The top-seeded American proved too strong - albeit a little rusty - for Jie Zheng of China, winning 6-3, 6-1.

Also playing to script was local hero, Tim Henman, who came perilously close to a two set deficit against Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo, a 26-year-old Spaniard who has never won a Grand Slam match. But the British No.1 displayed the grit that has taken him to seven Wimbledon quarter finals in the past eight years, emerging triumphant, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, 6-2. After the drama, the collective sigh of relief on No.1 Court was deafening.

Two British women justified their Wild Card status with rousing wins. The nation's number two, Jane O'Donoghue, battled past American Lindsay Lee-Waters to reach the second round of The Championships for the first time. Elena Baltacha, who made headlines two years ago when she reached the third round, brushed aside Marta Marrero of Spain, 6-1, 6-3.

The stars of Russia's tennis juggernaut stalled on both fronts. Marat Safin, seeded 19th this year, put in a lacklustre display against compatriot Dmitry Tursunov. The lesser-known player advanced 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) in two hours and 32 minutes on No.2 Court.

Also sent packing was French Open finalist Elena Dementieva, who suffered a surprise 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 loss against Sandra Kleinova. The unheralded Czech may have been hampered by a sore left knee, but Dementieva's serving woes proved to be a bigger handicap, helping Kleinova secure just her second win of the year.

Not far behind was Svetlana Kuznetsova, another player whose recent good form evaporated on the grasscourts at SW19. Victorious in Eastbourne only last Saturday, the number eight seed probably wished she was back on England's sunny south coast as she fell to Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano in three topsy-turvy sets.

Daniela Hantuchova, runner-up at Eastbourne fared better. Looking healthy and happy the Slovakian banished memories of her tearful exit from last year's Championships with a straight sets win over Samantha Reeves of the USA. After next opponent, Elena Bovina, withdrew due to injury, Hantuchova will have a walkover to the third round.

A happy return too for Mark Philippoussis, after an awful five-month spell in which he failed to win a match on the professional tour. With his singer/actress girlfriend Delta Goodrem cheering from the stands, 2004's unseeded runner-up cast aside Belgian Christophe Rochus, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

Day 3 total washout.

sara maza khatam ho gaya

greg rusedski won his 1st round match today in 4 sets, ha ha in total 3 brits into round 2 + the brit girls r doing well.

Okay so the first major upset is here. Venus Williams is out.

Rest progressed, Ferrero, Roddick etc..

This girl ( I dont remember the name ) kept her attitude aggressive through out the match.

Quite a few upsets today.

Coria is defeated by Florian Mayer of Germany 4-6,6-3,6-3,6-4.
Women no 2 seed Myskina is ousted by Amy Frasier 4-6, 6-4, 6-4

Rusedski is also out losing in five sets to Schuttler. I watched the last set and Rusedski totally lost it. He broke himself in the final set by four consecutibe double faults.

Henman advanced after a stuttuer.

Goran Ivansevic defeated by L Hewitt and goran waved goodbye to wimdledon. He has been a charismatic player with a powerful serve with a unique service style. A very energetic character. Wimdledon will miss him :k:

bizzare game - the chair umpire screwed up everything - who btw is done from wimbeldon.

WIMBLEDON - DAY FIVE

The courts at SW19 gleamed on Friday as the sun shone brightly in the sky, but none twinkled quite as much as the infamous Centre Court. Third match on saw Goran Ivanisevic play for the last time on the famous turf that reduced him to tears in 2001 when he won the men's title.

This time the Croat was facing Number 7 seed and 2002 Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt in the third round. His straight sets defeat did little to calm the crowd, conscious that this was likely to be his last Wimbledon appearance, and shouts of Goran' echoed around the grounds as he waved an emotional final goodbye.

But it's not only Ivanisevic who will be packing his bags tonight, as a raft of seeds were also knocked out today, most notably the number 3 seed, Guillermo Coria, who crashed out to Florian Mayer and Juan Carlos Ferrero, seeded sixth, who lost in three sets to America's Robby Ginepri.

Following the shock exit of Venus Williams yesterday, the ladies draw suffered another major loss, this time the departure of number two seed Anastasia Myskina at the hands of Amy Frazier. The American, who was playing in her sixteenth Championships, earned her greatest Wimbledon victory, beating the Russian in three sets on the graveyard' No.2 Court. Also out of the tournament is 26th seed, Lisa Raymond and 15th seed, Patty Schnyder.

The British players didn't fair too well either, with Greg Rusedski, Mark Hilton, Elena Baltacha and Jane O'Donoghue all losing today, The only British player to win was Tim Henman, who is now the sole British survivor in either men's or ladies' singles draws.

Day Six - Total washout. :(
