I wouldnt mind visiting a church if the intentions are to know their belief which would help me understand my religion better otherwise my own religion is complete enough to teach me "good".My religious concepts are enough messed up by our own scholars that i dont need to listen to their sermons to further mess them up.=]

i wud suggest u one thing if u want to learn more about deen. buy Sahih Bukhari and read it from A to Z. beside u need to buy some books relating to "Principle of Hadiths" so that u can know about different types of Hadith like what is sahih hadith, what is zaeef, hasan. what is the concept of tadlees and what is Muallal.
i wud recommend u to buy a book of Dr. Khalid Alvi about principle of Hadiths. the book is bit difficult to understand initially (may be u need some guidance of a scholar ) but as soon as u will go through this book u will get to know that how to differentiate between more reliable hadiths and less reliable hadiths.
to seek ilm Deen is our responsibilty and we cant blame others for it. if u do serious effort for learning deen insallah , Allah will show u right path.
