Well why mini-van Reha?. Why not Toyota Rav 4 (2.4L) stuff?. I totally love that 4x4 though!. You know that mini-vans are gas guzzlers eh!

Pros.
1. It sits low on the ground, so not only that its safe against rollovers as its center of gravity sits closer to the ground, its also easy for the kids to get in and out.
2. Because it sits low but height is good, kids can stand and easily move back and forth.
3. Because of space around the middle row, one can move from front seat to the 3rd row seat without any problem, even when the van is in motion (great for moms when kids need them).
4. Sliding doors. When you have infants and you need to move their car seat in and out, nothiing can be more convenient than sliding doors, especially in tight parking spaces.

Beside the things TLK has already mentioned, there is nothing comfortable like a Minivan if you do lot of travelling with kids (yes, i am talking about 4-15 hours drives)
My opinion is based on experience. I have done 6-16 hours of driving in
- Cars (Corolla, Avalon, GrandAm, Impala, BMW M5)
- SUV (Explorer, Lexus GX 470, Expedition, Highlander, Buick rendezvous)
- Minivan (Grand Caravan, Town & Country, Sienna)
Only thing that came close to comfort of Minuvan was Ford Expedition but it was gas guzzlers.

Mini vans r perfect for families, only reasons I wud prefer SUV over minivan is Safety and looks.

Wait the Previa & you're in Ontario? I haven't seen a Previa since 94? I'm assuming you're in ME? Is the engine still under the drivers seat?

Yeah I know.
I was talking to one of my closest friends and after her third kid............she still does not want to buy a minivan. An SUV it will stay because she feels like it makes her "old".

I dont know whats the big deal. If I am driving Minivan and if that means, I am an old guy with kids, then be it coz that what I am. I am a married guy with kids. Why would someone want to hide it

I have a friend who has three kids and a 5-seater SUV (two booster seats and one proper car seat in the back seat). She's going to have her fourth child and one of the first things we did was check out 7-seater SUVs!
The couple have a mini-van, but she prefers to drive an SUV - the mini-van is for family trips and the SUV for her daily soccer mom role.

Never ever am I letting my kids roll in a mini-van. Even a wheelbarrow would do but not a mini-van.
I'm sorry but they're just sooooooo ugly.

Being from a total paindo family I remember my dad sticking two settee's in the back of the old transit when going on family outings. ah da good old times...
