So since the city Govt of Karachi headed by a party made a huge cry about talibanization, are they willing to accommodate the massive number of refugees displaced by this operation? In my opinion this party used the whole guise to eradicate the pakhtun population of the city, so it will be interesting to see how they react once these refugees start coming in, because they will.

^lol no i donot think that karachi can take any more population. though the city of karachi should donate and MQM especially to make sure that the people affected by the military operation have some sort of support. i have read that shelters for 50,000 have been built however for how long these shelters will sustain them is not clear. that is the trouble with these military actions.

MQM would put itself in a position to pat its own back if it houses or makes some sort of effort to accomodate the refugees. The same also applies to other provinces, including Punjab which has hardly refused before.
The city Govt of Karachi can take this opportunity to extend an olive branch out to the already present residents and ask them to let the city build Apartments (for which they would obviously have to vacate the premises first) or something that is concrete so the people have a legitimate place to reside, while uplifting the image of the city and ridding it of the ghetto style housing.
The entire nation has to big-up and show support not only for the poor displaced refugees, but also moral support for the Army to continue fighting the menace known as TTP.

They don't need invitation from MQM to come to Karachi as those with relatives will automatically come to Karachi. It's other Pakistani cities that need to invite them openly. MQM has already donated money for IDPs.

being Pakistanis, they can go anywhere in Pakistan without restrictions, all cities are PAkistani cities, cities and Pakistanis from all over the country should support them in this hour of need in any way they can!
how about GS fund raising for this cause? mods should think about this, little efforts can make difference.
I think this is a temporary phase, once normalcy restored, they can go back to their homes. Best option for the government is to arrange temporary dwelling near to their homes.
Karachi is full of criminals and killers. These poor people will be lost in this concrete jungle where human life has of little value. You don't want another tragedy in their lives.

yea right!! the only thing different in Punjab case, people get mixed with locals and dont occupy specfic cities in Punjab, they are all in cities of Punjab. but in sindh they massively influxed only 2 cities, hence your assumption.

I don't think thats true give proof for that.And refugees should be divided equally to every province so each big city or province can handle it well, provide good shelters for them and when this thing is over they can go back to their homes.

may be not! becoz that party just wants fasad all over pakistan. that party first said pashtuns as talibanisation and then they come forward with a plan to aid pashtun refugees what a game going on for that party now.
and if they allowed pashtuns to come in karachi then indeed there will be a time when those pashtuns will be called talibs and will be imprisoned and terrorised by that party's terrorism as usual.

The thing is that those folks who have relatives or someone they know in Karachi, will probably prefer to go to Karachi anyways. The ones that do go to Karachi, i hope will be given refuge and welcomed with open arms. Pakistanis have to be as giving now to the innocent civilians who just want to flee the operation threatres, as they were when the earthquake happened and all political lines/ethnic divisions were erased and everyone helped out.
in all fairness, i do hope each province will put forth concrete efforts to house the refugees for the while they're away from their homes. the better the accomodations, the more likely TTP will be isolated thus allowing the Army to finish it off quicker without having to be concerned about civilians casualties. i reckon some people won't leave the areas simply because they see no solid preparations elsewhere in the nation, so they take their chances with staying put. that has got to change for the sake of humanity.

My prediction is the slaughter of these people in the city in the guise of talibanization too. MQM's ethnic agenda here is quite evident, a cleansing based on ethnic lines, devoid of all Pakhtuns/northerners in the city.

That have do it for survival ;) they cant let other people come to karachi.. very same reason they cant get votes in another parts of the country because of the idea behind it. changing name from muhajir QM to Muthida QM doesnt change anything. they playing mohajir card since inception, i dont think they have national ambitions ever, they play to be bargaining party in politics, thats why part of previous and current government!
