Woooo girl, Pakistani culture is based primarily on Islam and dats it. Not on your dewali or holi culture you know, Pakistani culture is very different. Ok the Indian/ Pakistanis who are raised up in your U of Azz don’t hate each other but yo they hate themseleves you know. Culture and religion are two different things. Not entirely, because they do have an effect on one another, but they ARE different. Since Pakistan was originally India, we’ve adopted MANY traditions and cultural values. (i.e. food, music, language, clothes, etc.)

FYI. Veer Zara was made along the lines of a pakistani movie where a sikh or hindu girl falls in love with a pakistani guy while she is visiting pakistan for some relgious festival or something.

The point of the movie…love is blind but honestly God gave everyone a brain and if you know right from wrong a single movie or even a multitude cannot make you go against ur beliefs that is IF ur beliefs are firm enough to start with.

ok your right!!! but my point is that its not bout muslim girls followin and start doing the same thing by gettin with hindu men…its about disrespect …india wants friendship with pak n at the same time they disrespect our culture n beliefs…i know that its wrong to do that…hindus and indians know its wrong for us,then why the hell do they show it in their movies if they really want us to become one…think back about why did the muslims make their own country?? .why did all this happen? think of all the problems that wud arise if we were to become one agenn? its NOT bout knowing from right or wrong we all know its wrong..the director knew it was wrong and in the movie he basically was saying that “a muslim girl can marry a hindu man” hes saying theirs nothing wrong with it…thats where the problem comes in…well anyways i dont want to argue this is just what i think…

Our religion is Islam and our lives are based on Islamic values not Hindu Pakistan’ Culture. Those marriage, basant, food stuff are just the way of life that has been passed on by generation. Practicing them doesn’t change the fact that we Pakistanis and they are Indians…we have a history.

There is no such thing as Pakistani culture really, but its also true that the hatred between subcontinental Hindus\sikhs and muslims may never end. I know some of the things that Sikhs are tought in there temples about islam and I can see why they hate muslims, the same goes for hindus. Thus naturally we will feel the same way about them. I know in most big cities you will always find Pakistanis and sikhs fighting with each other over useless BS.

its not about all indian movies its about the movies that are racist…and my point was that they want us to have peace between each other and at the same time they make these movies…and i wudnt really be considered pakistani cuz i was born in new jersey n i went to pakistan bout 5 years ago…

Like you said Phatima, your father won't get shirts made in India. Well, my father wouldn't let us watch Indian movies. As for if it will ever stop, I don't think so. We can all deny it, but it is true, that there are families where parents pass the hatred on in the future generations. It didn't work in my case, but my 2 of my brothers are in fact anti- India. They know I do watch Indian movies, but I have told them not to interfere in my business. But what we as a new generation should do is try to teach our childeren toleration and what good is it going to be if we keep acting hostile to one another?
