Re: Will Balochistan become Pakistan’s Vietnam?

No. not at all. This was just a sort of “brutal police operation” that was conducted by army and league.

Balochistan is Pakistan’s Alaska. It will soon be owned by Brigadiers, Generals and ML Industrialists while people of Balochistan will work in their factories, homes and personal and national guards.

We already have Balochistan Army National Guard (like http://www.akguard.com/ or http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/arng-ak.htm ) that is used to get rid of each and every person who opposes the government and does not ally with ML.

We lready have a few military bases in Balochistan (like http://reference.allrefer.com/gazetteer/us-categories/alaska-military-base.html) and they are increasing rapidly.

We will see a rapid (perhaps huge) increase in veterans from Balochistan joining army to ease their lives and (perhaps) to get some land in Balochistan. (like http://www.ak-prepared.com/DMVA/)

Re: Will Balochistan become Pakistan's Vietnam?

I hope not..we already have Waziristan as a mini Iraq after all..

Re: Will Balochistan become Pakistan’s Vietnam?

Good.

If it’s not Pakistan Armed Forces right to build bases in Balochistan then who else has the right. Balochistan, like the rest of the country need to be under government’s control.

Must I remind you that Karimabad was once called Hunza… until Pakistan invaded it and abolished it’s monarchy?

although we arent a democracy but i dont think any body has a right to do anything without consent of local people not even the state and by definition Army is not a state but an institution.
by the way why they need to build bases and spend billion when still people had to travel miles to fetch water there, whats the immediate threat from that side.
do they need bases for need or greed (gwador plots), you know there are people who had made million out of gwader and they are common people.

Re: A Sad Day for Pakistan's Enemies.

please read the history of the vietnam war, or the "american war" as the vietnamese call it.

it is very childish, naive and ignorant to make such comparisons.

the truth is, pakistan is building a new port, a new city at Gawadar. and many elements who are bent on weakening and destroying pakistan do not like it.

only a few districts in balochistan were considered to be "areas B", or unsetteled areas because the govt didnt have proper control over them.

the FACT that President Musharraf is about to go on a visit abroad means the situation on the ground is calm and not as bad as the self-serving media has made it to be.
:)

Re: Will Balochistan become Pakistan's Vietnam?

in case you people didnt notice, there is a WAR going on in Afghanistan. and India is on the other side just waiting for people like bugti, mengal, and marri to be born so they can do for india what india could not do, weaken pakistan.

the provinces should be divided into smaller provinces. divid punjab into three more provinces, randomly, divide sindh into three more, and divide balochistan and nwfp into four to five provinces each.

a SMALL area in balochistan is unsetteled and it gives an impression that the whole provinces is on fire.

more and MORE cantonments should be built in the Balochistan area wherever the army sees it fit.

call up the balochis living in iran and ask them if they got ANY royalties for the oil and gas the iranians get from that provices. they get NOTHING in royalties.

what is democracy?

Bush lost the election against algore and still became the president, the FIRST president in the histroy of america to be appointed by the supreme court. and americans still call themselves a democracy.

the americans enslaved the blacks for half a century, and all the while claimed to be a democratic nation.

hell, 30 years ago blacks couldnt purchase property around Washington D.C. and americans still call themselves a democracy.

India UPA govt cannot function without the support of communist parties and they're still called a democracy.

President Musharraf won the referendum FAIR AND SQUARE.. just like Nawas shareef got his 90% heavy mendate.

Pakistan IS democracy. ya dig?
