The word crooked there doesn't mean crooked by nature, but crooked in the sense that you can't force (straighten) a woman to your will, they are not malleable and only love and affection will make them bend to your will. Also, the Quran mentions that man is a 'creature of haste'.

Girlfriend = Junk food
Wife = Healthy food.

Junk food remain in basement whereas healthy food need more controlled environment such as Air tight jars or refrigerator hence more restrictions.

Why not get married and take responsibility for your actions in a mature fashion? Sorry but you want men to take gfs as serious as a married partner? Cohabitation might happen in the west but it doesn't mean it should be the norm in muslims.
