Captaan ji islam is never unfair. Unfortunately our several religious extremist have changed things for centuries that poor souls like yourself and many others - AStagfiullah - claim its somethign that Islam teaches.

There are many situations why that could happen. Just for example the wife becomes crippled and is unable to take care of herself (and husband) :)

In most honour killings...the accused is the victum. Even just talking to some guy is labeled as an affair. When was the last time a guy was stoned to death becuz he had an affair.

So what you're saying is that the girl doesn't do anything wrong in most honour killings and still gets punished for it. Sounds like the same thing that happend here as far as we know. The man didn't do anything wrong here (as far as we know) and still got punished for it.

Its the fitrah of man, to marry more than once. Its the fitrah of women to have only one husband at a time.
Polygamy brings a lot of benefits including protecting the chastity of the women whom the man marries, bringing people closer together, and producing a lot of children.
and the notion that today's man cannot do justice between their wives is BS. It may be true for the majority but it certainly does not imply to the entire male population, since there are my men out their who have more than wives and all of them are very happy. I personally do happen to know a few.

Verse 4:129 "Ye are never able to be fair and just as between women, even if it is your ardent desire: But turn not away (from a woman) altogether, so as to leave her (as it were) hanging (in the air). If ye come to a friendly understanding, and practise self-restraint, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

^by fitrah (natural disposition) i meant, that a man is never really satisfied with one woman in his life. Hence more than one woman are needed, and to prevent extra marital affairs Islam allowed polygamy.
How is it supposed to be a fitnah, when Islam allowed it..and when the Prophet and the Companions themselves practiced it?
