In canada anything can happen, police is not worse then pakistan.
I know this woman she got married to a canadian passport holder, he came to canada she left her in pak for few months then sponsor her she came to canada and jus waited 6 weeks till her PR card came, during this time she seek all the information from neighbour about shelter n stuff, one day hubby was at work she put all gold sets (cuz she jus came to canada to hubby hasn't got the chance to get bank locker) so she put everything in a hand bag including legal document like nikkah nama and his payslips like everyvalueable stuff and hide in neighbour house.
n called police, poor hubby came home from work n saw everything was packed like in a suitecase all her cloths she brought from pakistan n Gold (like 50 Tola) was missing. he said what's goin on n she start cry like creating scence

Good god! Sick disgusting women--dont they realize exactly how terrible and selfish their actions are? Selfish not only by ruining a man's life..but knowing that they make the case alot harder for true victims!

cant she record stuff, assuming the dude is at work most of the day, the recording would have to run maybe a few hours each evening, many digital recorders have the capacity, if nothing happens all is good, if he does hit her, she has proof.

My dad knew this pakhtoon guy (ive mentioned this cuz the incident was funny only cuz of his pushto accent 
) who was a qualified HVAC tech and he went missing for a couple of months. We needed to get our home’s heating / AC fixed so my dad had been trying to track him down. Finally he shows up one day and comes over for chai. Dad asked him
“Aur ghazanfar kidhar ghayab ho gaiy?” to which he replied in his pushto accent
“Bas ____ sahab woh dar-asal mujhay jail ho gaee aik maheenay ki”. The way he said it casually yet sounding pretty pissed off add to that in a pushto accent was just too funny
Okay okay back to serious talk. The reason he was in jail cuz he had beaten up his wife apparently and she called the cops on him.
So, moral of the story? 9-1-1

Meanwhile police came the dude was watching TV and she was in her room, she start crying that he doesn't let her go out from 2 months, they simply arrest the husband she said i don't wana live with him police said ok take ur beloging she took the bag from neighbour and went with police.
the poor guy was charged 4 charges like assult threat to kill n confidement(like kept in room) for 2 months. etc.
So then first day he was out on bail, for charges he hired a lawyer for 10,000 CAD, the lawer drag case for whole one year, During that time she was in shelter n then moved to some social assitance home, and start working as waitress, and also demand for financial help from spouse since he sponsored her.
so at the end on trial day she didn't show up so all four charges drop. the guy was happy at least he is free. next month he had family case appointemnt for money matter she showed up there and now the guy has to pay her $200 each month.
She had all Gold with her and reported that its been stolen in shelter.
so after the first case finish she went to police station and charge him again saying my family is scared from him in pakistan. Police took the passport from husband saying u can't go to pak until case finish.
he has to hire another lawer now for this case.

police In canada is worst then pakistan. she has no marks on her. but they believed her cuz of her acting. the guy is paying alot of money to lawers.

and 100% paindoo, like never been out of villege, just got married and came to canada for the first time.

BTW on the taped "bayan" she said she doesn't wana go back to pakistan and want to live here on her own, and asked the COP would it effect her nationality? also she asked the cop could u please put the hubby for jail for some time and cop said no only judge can decide his punishment.
now she is working in a desi restaurant as Tandoor wali, getting $200 for guy each month her family in pakistan (from pind) very happy that their daughter got a nice job with alot of dollars. the guy is still dealing with lawer fees, like $10,000 for first 4 charges
$8000 for the family lawer and now again hired another lawer for $5000 for new charges.
So the bottom line is: IN CANADA police doesn't ask for any evidence.
the woman can do anything.
she becomes permanent residence rite from the airport she/he enter canada.
so DON"T BRING SPOUSES FROM PAKISTAN

Haha, actually, with all these stories, I think the topic title is VERY appropriate.
Albelli, that is a sad, scary story. Who do these women think they are? how are they making their lives better in this way? Sending the guy to jail will mean he can't work and cant make the money that she wants to take from him. the woman that I was talking about-- also straight from the village. She says the dirtiest things, has no modesty. This guy is so quiet tempered, soft-spoken, god-fearing, and humble. didn't want anyone to know of his problems because he didn't want to worry them. Little did they know he was living with the devil incarnate. Things don't look too good for this poor soul.

In Canada women have more rights then men do.. atleast thats what the justice system tells us. So yes, if you call the police and give them even a hint of whats going on they'll come over and arrest the person whose being abusive. But keep in mind that the jurisdiction of each province in canada is different.. some might ask u to provide proof of the assault and others might not.. its different area-wise.. but if the assault/abuse happened in Ontario then u dnt need any proof .. your word is what they go by!
I hope your friend gets out of the problems that she is facing..
