FT, the sati tradition is practiced in only some areas such as interior Rajisthan…and some other places, and has been banned by the government 
and so has dowry etc…but it still exists. It’s really sad. However offshoots of such cruelty have been transferred to other religions via culture and for some reason, most people are so influenced by culture and not the purity of our religion. I don’t think any religion says burn the widow or throw stones at the widow or treat her badly…but our society has down that.
