KOLKATA — Driven to desperation by a neighbour’s sexual harassment, a widow in a West Bengal village hacked him to death and then surrendered before police.
Police said Parul Biswas of Poladanga village in north Bengal’s Malda district called Subodh Biswas, 40, to her residence on Saturday evening and then axed him with a sharp weapon. Subodh was married and a father of two, while Parul’s husband died seven years ago. Her only son works in Malda town and she lived alone. **When Subodh again made an indecent proposal to her on Saturday, she took him to a room on the second floor, bolted the room from inside and then attacked him. **Subodh’s screams alerted the neighbours. But when they arrived they found Parul leaving the house hurriedly. She went straight to Gajal police station, narrated the incident and was arrested.

I find it hillarious, some of these responses. I wonder if the situation was reversed, if you girls would be making the similar statements against the woman. I highly doubt it.

well.. do we know to what extent the sexual harrasment went?
at least she didnt just sit there and take his crap anymore..she did fight back.. which is something nto many women can do because they're too ashamed, or feel they deserve that happening to them.. im guessing it was all internalized until he went 2 far and she cudn't take it anymore and snapped? im not sayin he deserved to die (unless it was prolonged abuse/blackmail/rape/violence, not just sexual harrassment), but that she was fed up with what he did..

It clearly states in the article that it was an “indecent proposal”, which is not an attack, or rape. It’s a proposal! By that, you are justifying the murder of this human being. If everyone takes that stance, I don’t think there would be very many people left on this earth.
Now tell me, if the situation were reversed, would you have supported the murder of the woman by a man with the same scenario? I don’t think so.

You could say whatever you want to me, no matter how extreme. I wouldn’t go and hack you to death. It just goes to show how messed up and psychotic that woman was to begin with. She should get the death penalty for what she did.
You didn’t answer my question however. Would you support the man murdering the woman in this same situation?

Stupid woman, couldnt' she complain to police/courts? Whatever she did is fine, may be he deserved it, but they way she did it is wrong.
She should have alerted the police/court and then if he didn't she should do she she should. Now she will rott in jail for the rest of her life because courts will first ask "Why didn't u inform police if he was contineously harrassing you?"

But an “Indecent Proposal” justifies murder?
I’d like to ask. What would you have done if you were in that same situation? It’s easy to dictate what you may think is justified based on other people’s situations. You’d think quite differently in that scenario.

indecent proposal no.. but again we donno the details of exactly what he did..but i said before, i dont think it justified murder.
