Are religious people so freakin sensitive.

So today I was watching “The simpsons” and i heard this little joke.

man: “are you an Indian”
Apu: " By the many arms of Vishnu I swear that I am not"

Is that offensive to our hindu brothers?

I do not see any disrespectfulness going on there. At all. If you do, you need to be shot.

All people are sensitive about things they hold close to them. Parents, spouses, professions, religious beliefs, choices in life all end up getting equated.

some people don't take things as seriously as others. christian people joke around about jesus and all that all the time. Muslims take things a bit more seriously, because they obviously don't want it to be some kind of a joke.

No..trust us hindus..we won’t riot and kill other hindus in the process…we won’t declare a religius war or call Simpsons apostates..that is because we are cool…and simply better.

Maybe so insan, however its the intent that counts too right? I mean if we can take a trillion jokes at our expence, then surely just saying “Vishnu” shouldnt get anybody in a twist.
