Why we do this

After reading this a question came in my mind, especially for Pakistani people. Why we are like this. This is regarding not only just a player (sports), we do this with actors, singers as well. When they are in Pakistan we dont care much about them but when they go to India get big respect we start liking them. Why are we like this

Re: Why we do this

Because we are Pakistani. :D

Re: Why we do this

Its because our players do not know when to exit gracefully.

They do not play for free, its a professional sport and no one is bigger than game.

Even in other walk of life, you are good as long as you are performing. At my job, If I do not perform for next 2 years, you think my company will keep me as a freeloader because I performed in last couple of years? For your information NO. They are paying me and they expect the performance in return. They might let go 1...2...3.....4 mistakes because of my past performance but they wont keep me as a freeloader forever.

Re: Why we do this

^ok what about singers, comedians, actors. the time they are performing in Pakistan we dont even bother giving them any type of respect but the time they perform in India we start giving them importance ????

Re: Why we do this

I do not know who "we" are you talking about but performance in "India" is not a benchmark for me and many others. If you have not listened to Nusrat Fateh Ali, Rahat Fateh Ali, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Atif Aslam before they went to India, you need to do better.

Re: Why we do this

how about Shakeel Siddiqui stage comedian, think about respect of Lata in India and compare it to Mehandi Hasan's in Pakistan. Its not that we dont know our artists but its like we dont much care about them. And regarding sports, whenever Pakistan will win the Pakistani players were playing fair and whenever they lose they were sold out, they did that on purpose ???

Re: Why we do this

If you do not know how much Mehdi Hasan is/was appreciated in Pakistan, all I can say, please carry on.

Hope you are not mixing “respect” and “money”

:chai:

Re: Why we do this

no, not thinking that way. He has a lot of respect but dont think if he is liked the way lata is by the new generation. And this is not just regarding mehandi hassan.

Re: Why we do this

:hmmm: Is it because the younger generation does not appreciate ghazals as much ?

Btw, Mehdi Hasan was well respected and very popular in India.

Re: Why we do this

AS for the sportteams, everyone does that. This is not limited to Pakistanis and it is not a special trait that us Pakistanis posses.

As for the singers/actors, only the sheeps appreciate them more once they go to India. The sheeps only like them because they enter bollywood, just like they admire all bollywood actors. Not for their talent, but because of the Bollywood-tag.

The normal people still appreciate good actors and singers.

Re: Why we do this

I grew up listening to Mehdi Hasan's filmi songs and love them.

Sweetequation - your heart is in the right place. :)

Re: Why we do this

We here at GS only criticise our players for doing bad.....But the fact is that they have given their everything in the field to make sure Pakistan wins and they have done alot for Pakistan......and what have we done for Pakistan Nothing

They are Heroes and they deserve respect for making Pakistan proud

Re: Why we do this

I don’t like you. You should move this post to indialinks.com so we can be friends.

Re: Why we do this

is that so???? I never knew that.

Re: Why we do this

Most of the time one an apply Ghar Ki Murghi Daal Barabar.

Many people in Pakistan do not trust their own talent unless recognized by outsiders.

Even an idiot from outside University gets paid more sometimes.

Re: Why we do this

Errr... Maybe because to perform at the top level whilst getting paid top dollar you have to face criticism and rightly so..He represents the country of 180m and when they lose to India (our arch rival) and Afridi goes out playing a stupid shot. Maybe it's in his blood not to be a rational player but still I would say to people like Afridi 'grow some *****'
