Today i came to know of this horrifying crime that shocked me to the core. A pig(cant call somone like that a human) had a dispute with another one over a piece of land. He took his younger daughter to the land and killed her with an axe to blame it on his rivals. Occured just next to our village in Pakistan. But a couple of women saw the murder and reported it before he went to police.
When i knew of it, i felt as if someone had killed my own daughter. I went to her room and hugged her and i couldnt stop crying. My daughter kept asking me why was i crying, couldnt tell her. Then she started crying as well.
How could someone kill their own flesh and blood.
He would never have killed his son (younger or older). Because a daughter is considered a burden...inferior to a son. Such is the jahil mentality among some people.
I know this thread doesn't deal with honor killings, but I was reading one in the All Views forum about this topic. The people in these villages don't think twice about killing their innocent daughters/sisters as compensation. The jirgahs don't seem to be effective...the decisions made are not always sound and go against basic principles of Islam....law enforcement is useless and corrupt. It's a mess on so many levels.
