Mr. Asif, with the Americans so vested in Pakistan, which is only second after Israel, change of power does not take place without their blessing. New Boss in USA wants new management who will perform to achieve goals set out for them. USA leaders had aired their displeasure over lack of action against Haqqani group. The new mandate is to go hard and heavy on terrorists and govts will be toppled to achieve that goal.

Your argument has merit but NS was not ousted this time because of some outside pressure or the establishment. Let’s stop kidding ourselves. He lost his job because he was caught red-handed because of the leaks. The charges against the family were of money laundering, tax evasion, forgery and lying to the judiciary; too grave by any standards. The army largely stayed neutral during the whole saga. As I said above I would like to see the same yardstick applied to everyone including corrupt bureaucrats and military officials.
