Arab tribes did have a concept of superiority/inferiority but that was based on the tribes wealth and it’s actions and wasn’t something permanent, regardless in this regard the pagan Arabs were just as bad as Hindus, some still are today as are some Pakistanis who have ill founded superiority complexes…
For Pakistan all caste/tribal identities are socially divisive (whether they be Khan or Bhatti) probably more than any other society, our people don’t deserve the privilege of having tribal/caste surnames because they abuse them, this is a menace in our society and needs to wiped out as soon as possible, surnames after the first name of a paternal forefather as is the custom in many segments of Pakistani society is the way forward because it’s more cohesive for our country and will help our people grow into a forward thinking, open-minded nation who can concentrate on more important things and is not hell bent upon frivolous things like caste and tribe… We need to let go of our stagnant mindsets and not give undue importance to silly things and start concentrating on that, which will truly make us shine and our nation prosper.
Outdated concepts like caste and tribe (or at least the Pakistani understanding of them) has no place in a country which wants to be modern and urbanised. I know they have surnames in western countries but westerners are wiser than us and know not give them any importance, in our country we need to break the current tribal/caste set up, and family affiliations and can take their place without any concept of superiority/inferiority.
