^ yes, I think in the name of freedom the west has gone very far away and now they want others to follow. it should be people’s freedom to decide what to wear.

as far as purdah being backward is concerned, i have observed that some in affluent areas (like dha) are doing purdah, and those living in poorer localities are not observing it. nothing to do with being backward or fashionable.

But a lady without dupatta or chadar would be seen as alien in those poor localties
