Apparently word naqaab seems to be a Persian word.. As we say: Be-Naqaab , Naqaab Posh.. all referring to Persian Origin.

As someone also mentioned that Persia got big role in purda, I think both Arab and India were influenced by Iran when it comes to naqaab. May be some old Arab paintings (if there are any) reveal the evolution of naqaab in Arab world.

Haan ho sakta hai…but I think iranis don’t do naqab now…I hv seen them in masjid nabawi & masjid al haram .. they have v big chadars wrapped around them from head to toe, no face covering(naqab).
