Re: Why Purdah is considered as a sign of backwardness?
The argument is that wel ghunghat was followed in India even before the arrival of Islam. This is an argument used when someone come up with comments like Muslims (Mughals) brought this ghunghat to India, whereas women in areas (central Asia where Mughal belonged) didn’t follow such kind of purdah.
