Why did nt Punjab vote the PTI? Considering the rallies, media coverage and what appeared to be quite a lot of support..where did it all go wrong? At least the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be applauded for trying out something new. What did the PML do to regain popularity? If the voter turnout was so much higher who did it benefit? If these peopel voted the PTI IT MEANS THAT THEY DID LITTLE TO EAT INTO THE SUPPORT OF THE PML …(excuse the caps…a typo not me shouting)…

People in punjab (specially rural areas) have voted for tangibles (Laptops, taxis, Metro bus). We must respect that even though we feel it was a choice they should not have made.

A substantial electorate from Punjab did vote for PTI.
Punjab did not vote for PPP.
My personal feeling is that too much Noon League bashing did not sit well with traditional N followers and they also got motivated to go out and vote instead of changing loyalties to PTI.
The other reason is quiet obvious and that is traditional politics in Pakistan of which N-league has quiet a lot of experience, taking in a lot of electables and fielding them nicely across the country.
It should serve as a very good learning experience for PTI.

aur comparison kro Shahbaz Sharif ki performance ka in Punjab ...... yha bi mis management thi but not a single mega scandal against Punjab Gov.

Reputation of lot of PTI candidates was not good.
One sided criticism of PML-N and forgetting Zardari altogether.

Not just Karachi. I think PMLN won a few more seats from Sindh.
NA 258 was a traditionally PPP seat. But this time around PMLN allied with nationalist parties there, plus people were not happy with PPP’s selection of candidate. So this loss was already predicted.

forgive me for the language but I had this analogy since I saw over 100 people in NS jalsa to election day.
When a cow/buffalo stop reproducing and gain weight. We give her less food for over months.
Then it lose weight and start reproducing. I don't know how much of it is true but we call it "melting fats around its ovaries "
My fellow panjabi, have the same condition, their fat around the ovaries is still not melted.
They have their shugel-mela going on, till to the election booth.

Due to Shah Mehmood Qureshi, PTI lost few seats in south Punjab, some did join PTI due to Qureshi and contested as independents and r winning.

coming from hard line PML (N) areas even my whole family voted for N..i can say PTI were a bit naive to think elections are a straight forward process
1- ppl voted for the symbol not personalities (at least my area)
2- IK kept abusing NS and did not say much abt zardari..and i felt the grudge too much in everyone's talk
3- bradari'ism plus some angry groups went into other direction after not getting tickets.
4- ayen-e-no se darna..tarz-e-kuhn pe arna...manzil yehi kathan hai qaumon ki zindagi main :)

They havent been disillusioned by the PML to the extent that they would vote for anyone else. They got a taste the last time over, but it will have to be an entire term of bad governance before people decide to ditch them like they have the PPP. Wait 5 years, and if they dont perform, out they go. I think it will be PTI on the next go.
