Why people of different communities (Urdu speaking and Punjabi) have stereotypical behavior with each other?
We saw it in every walk of life.

They make fun of us calling Karachi, karaanchi. we make fun of them calling darakht, dara-khat

Its a natural defense mechanism, stick with those who are a like to you because you will be protected.
It happens in every race in every country across the globe.
Its a lot deeper than saying its 'backwards or jahil'
Its political and deeply rooted within us and our intuition. It happens on microlevels and macrolevels.

And why does one community hate other communities? Why is there some special war between Punjabis and urdu speakings, especially in the matters of marriage. I have seen strong opnions in urdu speaking families NOT to go for punjabi families and vice versa. This still happens in the 21st century. Its just ridiculous. I guess the new generation is not into this division but our elders ARE.
What about children like me :( My dad was a punjabi and my mom is urdu speaking. Very kuttar punjabis are not willing to consider me FULL PUNJABI coz I look urdu speaking (coz of my mom, I have that pure urdu accent), my dad is no more in this world so he cannot speak in punjabi to prove him to be a punjabi. On the other hand, very strict urdu speaking families do not consider me urdu speaking because my dad was a punjabi. So I guess I am AADHA TEETAR AADHA BATAIR :(
