May be urdu speaking are more like caring for manners, adaab, tehzeeb, pehle ap pehle ap, Lijiay dijiyay etc. My mom in her initial days of marriage asked my taya, bhai jan CHAI lijiay.. he said, yahan aise nahi bolte, yahan kehte hain: bhai jan chai lein, no lijiay dijiay

But I like the openness and frankess of punjabis. They are just sooo full of life, full of hulla gulla etc.
I guess I am lucky that I have both the traits. Urdu speaking + Punjabi :) But the society is not accepting me as I am :D

In my opinion, you have more chances from both worlds and will get your significant other.

Lets see.. But until now, this has been proved to be a disadvantage. Like I do not belong to a particular community :(

I have seen many examples, where couples are from different communities.
You can see each spouse is compatible with punjabies.
You supposed to think like punjabi.

Re: Why people stereotype to other communities?
I was wondering the same thing.
To be honest…I am not sure…what is so offensive about being tan???
…do you know how big the tanning business is?
For Urdu speaking families, they find the frankness and openness to be a bit rude. Thats why they dont get along.
I have to say though…in the rishta process…most Punjabis I have met dont like speaking it.

Re: Why people stereotype to other communities?
Stereotypes can result from a negative experience that one has with a person from a particular group/culture......and then everyone from that culture gets lumped under the same generalization. They can result from notions/views passed on by family....that haven't been challenged......and they might even result from jealousy/insecurity.......for example you come across several people of one group that are successful....and you try "rationalize" their success in a negative way. For example, all ____________ are wealthy because they're stingy, etc.
Re: Why people stereotype to other communities?
