Verizon, its not about Israel, you, me or Sabah. Its about her jumping in this thread and acting like goody two shoes. If she wants to apply the standard, it has to be fair and across the board....not selective. I can say with certainity that I know why she choose this thread, but, that is another discussion. This was the biggest complain users had about her beahvior before and its shining through again.
Madhanee, its ok if you dont believe in Hadiths, but than again, you dont bring Islam in to justify/win an argument. She did and if she is going to do that, she better be prepared for an argument that she can win.

I always thought Pakistan's opposition to Israel was because of Jerusalem. From this thread, it seems to be love for the ummah. (which really doesnt exist, if we look at it honestly)
From a political perspective, Palestinians, specifically, Yasser Arafat never supported Pakistan on the Kashmir issue, and if Jerusalem (being the second holiest place for Muslims) issue wasnt there, I dont think Pakistan would have ever given a damn regarding Israel and Palestine.
Its well known news that Israel offered to help India deal with Kahuta. But the risk was deemed too great. The reason why Israel would have wanted to take out Pakistans nukes was because they may have felt that because of Pakistans ideological stance regarding Jerusalem, it may be compelled to join a fight for it, should it ever come to that. Pakistan had already done that covertly in the 67 and 73 wars. Another reason may have been US trying to use a 3rd party to dissolve Pak nuke program.
Regardless, the only people speaking out against Israel within Pakistan are the jamaatis, and the population otherwise doesnt care less. Yes, people do feel deeply about Jerusalem, and the apartheid conditions that exist in the occupied territories, but there is no real widespread hatred against Israel. If anything, its a bhed chaal. You do it because others are doing it, and not doing it makes you a pariah.
If it really was for the love of 'ummah', then Pakistan would have adopted the same approach with India and Occupied Kashmir as well. Break off all ties with India, so long as they occupy Kashmir.

Isreal did plan to covertly bombard the Kahuta plant back in the 80s. But the plan was leaked out and Isreal never carried out the mission. There were rumors that a certain F-16 jet was spotted refueling somewhere in the far-east. US may have played a hand in leaking that info to our military intel. Concrete details are a state secret. Most people in Pakistan are not even aware that such an attack was planned by the Isreal. Im talking bout the people that are not related to military or govt community.
Anyway, like Akif said, Pakistanis may hate Isreal because they consider Jerusalem as Islam's 2nd holy site and currently occupied by the Isreal not cos the botched mission to bombard Kahuta. (Btw, the facility was well protected from ordinary missile attacks from F-16s from the air, unlike the Osiraq facility in Iraq which was a sitting duck. It would have required a lot more than a couple of F-16s the wipe out Kahuta :) and we are taking 80s military tech)

Pakistanis love conspiracy theories and this is one more theory about Israel and india bombing kahuta. Do you guys know how close India is to Kahuta. There is a reason for setting up a nuclear reactor close to the border. The reason is nuclear fallout. If India or Israel were to team up, India would still loose cause the nuclear fallout would kill its own citizens.
Israel and Pakistan have an understanding why they have nukes. Israel doesnt consider Pakistans nuclear capability as a threat. It may have when Pakis used to call it the Islamic Bomb (while it was being built and careless statements by Bhutto to win arab funding). Eversince Pakistan has made the bomb Israel understands the reasoning, and they will not attack.
But then again who am i to know all this.
