Why now?

Re: Why now?

I was actually saying the same thing to a friend earlier today. It wouldn’t surprise me if a number of those killed last week were against the war and took part in all the anti-war rallies.

Re: Why now?

Are the survivers going to march in pro-war rallies now? Doubt it.

So why this attack now, if it's not about revenge for the Iraq war/afghanistan etc etc.

Has the war on terror increased the likelyhood of this happening again?

Re: Why now?

^ ask matsui..he is cleaning up his M-16 and getting his sod ass ready to get enrolled in the US army, to go and kill some terrorists..after that there ain't gonna be any mo' bombings..

Re: Why now?

LOL :rotfl:

I know quite a few versions of it too  Just pick any.

When you want revenge you go directly for that individual or thing - This can't possibly be an act of revenge, else they'd go for Blair, his family or the politicians. This is a publicity stunt as Sobi said, someone wanted to be known as hero and seems like its working for them.

On one of PTV's programs yesterday an elder guy was explaining how some of the ayah from quran can be interpreted to actually justify these killings. Furthermore, he was also saying that this form of suicide can not be termed Haram as those men probably didn't know that their act is haram. I didn't know that anyone would have guts to actually say Quran justifies that on open screen. There is a difference between freedom fighting and terrorism, these criminals will have to understand that.

As for why now, why not? Uncertainty is insecurity for majority, you should never feel safe. Only when you start getting back to your normal life, you're reminded how easy a victim you are. Pretty smart strategy, imo. Seems like they strike at places where they can cover a large number of different nationalities, so that no one can say, well it was in NYC or London, far away from me. Chances of you and me being a direct or indirect victim have increased.

As for whether war on terror is working or not - I'd say the mere fact that the whole world has focus on this one thing and majority is united against it, is a success in its self. Countries like Pakistan who've been victim of internal and external terrorism for decades can now, with international backing root out what is hurting us the most. It's also becoming increasingly difficult for us to justify criminal acts like this, so when majority stops regarding these moron as heroes, their desire for blowing up them selves will also decrease. One more attack and I'm sure popularity of such acts will be close to zero. So yeah, war on terror is working. imho.

Re: Why now?

The problem is not Bush or Khan (the guy who blew himself up) but primitive thinking. No one has the beans left to deduce right from wrong. Religion, greed, stupidity, unless we stop being controlled by them nothing will change. Oh yes it will, but only when a billion or two are blown up.

Oh my God!

And they allowed him on national television? Did you understand him correctly?

The Imam at my Mosque condemned the attacks, he dedicated the whole Friday Sermon to it. The Imam last week only made a brief point about it but the one today was very clear in his message, which was good.

Re: Why now?

go to www.whatreallyhappened.com and see london bus pic and read carefully the title of this link. u get lot of awnsers!

Re: Why now?

If he was saying it air, he should be jailed for that. Such demagogues are causing much harm to our youth. As a Muslim, no body can claim not to know that suicide is forbidden in any form.
