Re: Why now?
the place where I live (alhamdulillah) was unaffected by 9-11. Life plodded along at its own pace - I always had that sense of witness though. I was affected more when my entire town was deserted when those one million brits went to rally anti-war. It was deserted and the schools stopped.
Re: Why now?
Reza, you’re probably right, especially about number two … the Brits were right barstards. However, I just can’t believe that the London atttack had nothing to do with ‘muslim’ terrorists.
Now I would love to continue chattting, but this is one of them threads where we’re all gonna have to agree to disagree. Plus Big Brother is on in 22 minutes, anD Orlah (or however you spell her name), has been looking proper fit this last week
Re: Why now?
Pinny…During the last 50 years, the US has been invloved in more wars than you have fingers to count them on…How many human beings have been killed as a direct or indirect result of American war crimes in this time period?
Can you guarantee that no other nation will become another Vietnam?
Re: Why now?
The moment Blair threw his lot in with Bush I said that he'd make us a target. I certainly felt less safe since that incident.
Have there been any attacks in France connected to the War on Terror?
Re: Why now?
Not if you are muslim. Then you have no freedoms.
Re: Why now?
Pehlay apne girehbaan mein jhaank kar dekhiyey.
This is slightly off topic but don’t forget Kashmir, Gujarat, Ayodhya, Harminder Sahib in Amristar, genocide of Daleet/Achoot (a people considered ‘low caste’ in the Hindu faith), live widow burnings, human sacrifices to the goddess Kaali, treating Muslims and other non-Hindus and ‘foreigners’ as Maleech (unclean)… I can go on…
…My point is it’s not only Muslims looking to achieve Maha-Samadhi through such ‘godly’ acts. ![]()
Re: Why now?
Great point. It is very likely that all 52 who died last Thursday may have marched right along those millions in anti-war marches. It is very sad.
Re: Why now?
My Brit colleagues have said "why not Stockholm or Switzerland, or even Canada? Why us? There is a reason, why we are being bombed."
Re: Why now?
PD, really. I thought OBL was still alive…is he dead. We sure did take it to him, did’nt we. What abou the public enemy #1 in Iraq , what is he called Zarqawi, yeah, we took it to him too. We were alos very successful in apprehending the throat slitters, man our long standing tradition of success is making me so proud, I can almost cry (laughing).
Re: Why now?
^ Keep going...
Doesn't change the fact that from Philippines to the US, there is one common enemy. Pakistan is between these two countries, their enemy is the same.
Kaleem, yaar I m as disappointed as you are. I want the American gov't to unleash the forces and go into Pakistan and get OBL. Same with Iraq, stop pussy footing around forget about whether terrorists like zar******* hides among sympathizing civilians. take them out. This is what we could be doing. But we shouldn't. Because Pakistan is a realtionship of convenience and Mushy is our boy that we need to protect. Purposely razing entire towns for one man, is not American.
I love the irony in our situations. I am a life long republican, yet I didn;t vote for Bush. You Voted for Bush even after the war on terror and the impending march to IRaq. Funny isn't it.
Re: Why now?
dude get your story straight, seriously. Did London get bombed by muslims cause they deserved it, or was it a conspiracy to incite (more) disdain toward muslims. Go on the record one way or the other already.
Re: Why now?
PD, but explain to me who exactly have we "taken it to"? Innocent civilians of Afghanistan and Iraq? Is that the best we can do. How about the oh so brilliant FBI and CIA, they can find people in Egypt by smelling their pubic hair in WTC, but cannot locate OBl if he is standing in front of them. Which one should I believe? Oh what a dilemma?
Re: Why now?
Kaleem, the fact that terrorist camps have but been razed in Afghan is a huge success. Afghanistan was a hot bed of terrorist export. I am glad we went into Iraq. Bush botched up the implementation but the strategy si right. Unlike yourself, I do not htink neo-con is a bad word.
Billions of terrorist assets frozen, hundreds of terrorists arrested, the less these types ar eon the street the better. How many plots foiled. The specatular gets our attention but the subversion of the terrorists plans on an ongoing basis is the greatest win.
I am confident we will win, from philippines ot pakistan to the US. fundos will be defeated.
Re: Why now?
I’m sure Bush told you that ![]()
Re: Why now?
IMO, puppet Tony BLiar's policies had put the British people at risk. This ******* is one of the most decietful politicians I have ever seen.
After the Iraq invasion the British people were put in the direct firing line of terrorists wishing to exact revenge. It was clearly acknowledged that an attack on London was a question of when and not if.
Re: Why now?
No, I don’t think Muslims or Christians for that matter bombed London. I was just reporting some observations from what my Brit colleagues were saying, if you cared to re-read what I wrote. Jeez are you colonials bad with reading, as well as your directions.
Re: Why now?
I knew there was a reason we could get along… ![]()
Re: Why now?
Maybe.
Re: Why now?
Starsky,
put some OOmpph in it. I have never seen such a lackadaisical delivery of the ‘b’ word. My Punjabi friends know 7 different ways of pronouncing it and each conveys more emotion, more disdain than your vanilla delivery. Try again, atta boy. ![]()
