Correction:- he NEVER said that prophet Lut (AS) himself was gay. His QOUM (nation/tribe) had homosexual tendencies and openly used to practice it. Prophet Lut (AS) tried to stop them and he himself WAS NOT part of it.
Note:-guy be careful with what you read and then attribute with Prophets and God's messengers. If something is not clear then seek advice from some scholar or study reliable books on topic. DO NOT take anything off Internet as authentic source, bEcause it could very well be a case of misinterpretation (like this one).
Thanks. That's what I wanted to say. It's scary how people say anything about prophets and queens without proper research or direct quite from Quran/Hadith/sunnah. @Blessed 2006 please just don't read anything and believe it do your own research.
We are at least 5 decades behind the West when it comes to our level of development, enlightenment, sensitivity to issues of race, class, gender and acceptance of issues like homosexuality and in some respects even behind that. And five decades ago homosexuality was a big taboo when gay stars like Rock Hudson had to contract arranged marriages in order to keep up their heart throb images in front of the public. let us not blindly copy the West in making inroads into a territory for which we are socially, historically and psychologically just not ready. Let us focus on the real areas that need our attentionl.

oh my bad i didnot read the qoum bit (i know about his qoum)....so i googled up and found few answers (what i have written). but all in all it is my fault this is regarding quran and a prohet so when i wasnot sure about him i shouldnot have said it. i will read quran for this matter to find out what it says or will consult someone.
ok so prophet lut (as) was a gay before he became a prophet and got allahs commandments. after that he told others about the right path.
i never knew this and always thought he was a prophet straight from the beginning as in totally pure (though he wasnot bad as in he was only into this bad thing till he became a prophet...he left this bad kaam when he got gods commandments)
thanks ali usman for mentioning prophet lut (as) and adding to my knowledge.
Prophet Lut was innocent. He was prophet, only his Qoum was gay and Allah send Lut to this Qoum to tell them to marry with girls and not involve in homosex.

Yeah i know...i just didnot read the qoum bit from your post and got confused...but its all clear now (see my above post)
People, according to Quran the Arabs are a really terrible race too (read 9:97 and 9:101)...I just can't see why religion is used to target anything that doesn't fit the macho-male stereotype? Leave gay people alone (and women too, for that matter)...
It's important to be tolerant and let people be themselves. That's the only way to put an end to this culture of hypocrisy and double standard where we force people to lie and create an atmosphere of suspicion all around. If there's a market for gay-themed stuff on Pak TV, might as well tap into that.
^ haan yaar that was a brilliant telefilm..sanam baloch's husband was played by wahaj and sanam iqbal's husband was played by rashid farooqui (ramchand guy)....in the end they show that the baba (susar) sleeps with the choti bahu too, same he did with the older bahu (sanam iqbal) when she came in the house....choti bahu never wanted too since she was expecting someone else...its kind of hard to explain...dekh ke hi samajh aye gi...
the play was called chimgadar...i guess....it was directed by mazhar moeen and written by faseeh bari khan...the team of burns road ki nilofar...
btw can u plz post those 2 clips which are on utube...cheers
I search but could not find this drama. Please give link here.
HUM's show Ghirein Kitni Baki Hain did do one episode on sexual abuse and homosexuality. Shamoon Abassi plays a man who sexually abused a young guy he hired who later on is married off from pressure from his family. Aisha Omar plays his wife and overhears the convo between her husband and Shamoon Abassi on her suhag raat and understands what happens.
It was a very complex story and should def. be watched if you can on Youtube.
