I know it is controversial but many channels, especially Hum Tv, are quite bold. They can show some subliminal reference in a drama or two. When the Indian supreme court is about to ‘decriminalize’ homosexuality, Pakistani media is not even able to spill some beans about the realities of Pakistan.

They have shown dramas on rape, robbery, pimp, and yes on the famous events of net cafe...but no... Gayness is too much to dramatize.

please watch begum nawazish ali. what can be bigger than these people 'supporting' a gay/bi transgender person? hum tv just started a new show called rangeeli with the same person. also, if you watch the drama tikone, you'll see a gay relationship.

Oh really? What's the extent of that 'gay' relationship in that drama? Begum Nawazish and Rangeeli wud not be considered a sign of gay emancipation as ali is just a female impersonator and has never raised his voice for gay rights.

i saw one telefilm about gays...came on humtv under aik kahani...it was a very very good telefilm...the twist was brilliant

He's gay and he flaunts it very well, and Im sure if not everyone then MOST people know it.

as far as i know, majority hates this issue (i hate it) that's why its better if they not show something like that on tv which is not liked by the most of ppl who are watching tv.

And let's not forget that it's not just the 'elite' or 'open minded' people who watch TV. Many, many lower class, lower middle class, etc watch dramas and shows because alot of them don't have any other source of entertainment. Something like this would not be acceptable and Im sure many people will reject the idea of showing homosexuality on TV in order to stop their kids from being exposed to such things.

I think there was a drama or teleflim on humtv...I saw it on youtube. I just two videos were posted. It had sanam baloch and the dad from ramchand pakistani in it. the girl (sanam baloch) gets married into a family, and apprently her husband was gay. I don't know the name of it...but I really wanted to see the ending...does anyone remember???

^ haan yaar that was a brilliant telefilm..sanam baloch's husband was played by wahaj and sanam iqbal's husband was played by rashid farooqui (ramchand guy)....in the end they show that the baba (susar) sleeps with the choti bahu too, same he did with the older bahu (sanam iqbal) when she came in the house....choti bahu never wanted too since she was expecting someone else...its kind of hard to explain...dekh ke hi samajh aye gi...
the play was called chimgadar...i guess....it was directed by mazhar moeen and written by faseeh bari khan...the team of burns road ki nilofar...

True I watched a documentry on gays in Pakistan, didn't know we had any.
Btw Im writing a feature screenplay in life in Karachi and one of the issues tackled is gay love between a shia and sunni.
