I know some, and it shows how much they respect their parents and how well they were raised, along with what kind of value systems they were brought up with!
They are rare to find...which is a shame!

No, they can still respect them etc....but those traits show up more with guys that allow their parents to help them find that special someone...imo!

And yet parents might not always make the right decision don't you think? We like to think they are, but our parents are not above human error...
I'd rather allow my child to mess up his own life, rather than forever feeling guilty about doing it for him/her.

Yea I agree with you...parents may not always make the right decision, but they will always have your best interest at heart! And suprisingly they can sometimes know you better than you may know yourself!!!
It's one of the biggest decions in your life, and you should let your parents be a part of it, that is if they want to be...
It's funny thou...if we were to use your logic....then why is it looked upon so badly when a girl wants to have a love marriage...where is all this parents are only human and they can make mistakes...and its better for her to learn on her own etc etc...

arrange marriage , parents always decide the right things for their kids , by virtue of thier experience they can see much more things with different angles that what young generations cant see so i guess one should give one chance to their parents to decide as they raised you and support you in all good n bad time, thats the least what they deserve.

It's only looked down upon in some cultures. And those cultures aren't flying so high either, if you know what I mean. Nations that can't give women freedom (and this is one of the most basic freedoms) are forever doomed to be trampled underfoot by those who hold their women in high regard...

If I were to speak from my limited experience (my own example and the example of people I know), I would say that it's because they don't have anyone in mind themselves, so they're open to parents' suggestions.
I also want to add that I'm not saying that most want an arranged marriage, but when it comes to those who get married that way, that's their story.

let me tell you why!!! Have you seen most of these guys who agree to arranged marriages??? these are the guys who cant find a girl who is willing to marry them, most girls wont even talk to them. When they involve their parents, and ask their parents to find them someone, parents will always find a girl who is way out of their sons league!!! and the girls parents will usually say yes to the rishta, because these guys usually have really good well paying jobs!
Now, before everyone starts jumping down my throat, this is not the case for ALL, but I would say about half the guys out, this is the main reason!!!!
And just cause a girl has an arranged marriage, as opposed to a love marriage, it doesnt make her anymore shareef than another girl. there are some girls out there who have arranged marriages after they have had all their fun! and there are girls who have love marriages, who have never been with/talked to another guy in their entire life.
