orphans who survive get support - otherwise they wont be able to survive - whats gonna happen if you through an orphan in the jungle?

^ what a silly thing to say ShahreyarKhan? of course ALL pakistani women can survive without husbands. Do young children drop dead the second their parents pass away? Then how would we have orphans. Survival is a basic human instinct, so yes women can survive without husbands. It might be difficult, it might not be a good life, it might not be their preference but they will SURVIVE. They’re hardly going to cease to exist because their’s no husband in their life. The only thing people can’t survive without is food and water.

Nobody prefers to be alone, I’m sure everyone wants to have someone in their life, but they don’t want for that person to just be anyone. I’m not going to pick some random guy off the street just so I can have a husband. I want a husband who loves me, supports me, who I can talk to, who I get along with, etc. Personally, I’d rather be by myself than not have those things. There are some women who wouldn’t , they’ll take a loveless, dull, even abusive marriage because they don’t want to be alone. However, in the previous generation survival for women who didn’t have husbands was a lot harder. Of course they could still survive, they’d find some way or the other to live and breathe, but it would be a difficult life, women didn’t used to be able to work, or go out in the world on their own, they were ostracised by society for being single; there were a lot of things that we take for granted now that made it extremely difficult but not impossible to survive without a husband. In that scenario if my option was to be dirt poor and on the street because nobody will hire me and everyone shuns me and I can’t even go get food from the grocery store for fear of my safety then I’d probably choose the jackass husband. You cannot possible generalise for all Pakistani women, these things are based on situations and individuals. Human beings aren’t factory made.
