Can I ask u why are models suppose to be reallllllllllllllly tall!!! Female models have to be over 5’6 and male models have to be over 6’0 feet tall! WHY?
Why can’t normal people with a good NORMAL height and a good wieght go into the fashion world?
Some people have good faces and even almost perfect figures but just because they are a bit below the height required, they get rejected!!!
IMO it's also because its easier to see clothes on the model if they are taller...... and because designers make a standard size and the clothes hang better off a taller model when they show their collections...
but there is all kinds of modelling.. and the above is for runway modelling...which you kinda have to be over 5'9 i guess..
Lollypop: just another lame assumption, based on some mindless blabber, hyped by the media, that good “height” signifies a strong character, overconfidence, strong willpower, etc etc. While on the flip side, “short” height represents " low self-esteem, unwillingness, and overall under accomplishment. Its just another mass generalization, in this stupid world of pathetic exaggerations
As you can tell from k2pk’s statement, its one of the most believed stunt of “categorizing” ever pulled.
Huh
5'6
says who?
I did modelling for two years and i am only 5'4
I think its how one carries themselves that counts
You can wear the most elegant or fashionable of clothes and look like a drag
or you can wear any piece of rag and look enchanting
Lollypop ji let me sum it up for you, any male who is taler than 6,0feet he is a freak, same implies with over 5,6feet women. Now you know why they are models.
Thanx for ur encouragment Pristine. I am not 5'2, I am 5'5.5 and I am modelling. And for u Anchal, have u seen a supermodel who is 5'4? All these Miss Worlds and Miss Universe r all very tall. My point was "Why do u have to be tall to be beautiful?" I wuz not trying put anyone down.
I do know alot of models who are 5'3 or 5'4 but do u know any recent supermodels or Miss Worlds who r below 5'6.
Lollypop why do you feel he need to follow the trend
If that was the case we would never experience the changes in fashion
why not set up your own trend
why become lakir ka faqir
As far as my knowledge is concerend in Australia they have removed the age barrier so now 5'4 or 5'3 is OK
Like i said one has to have the grace and know how to carry themselves
Height has nothing to do with it
nick you're tall as sin man, don't let my theory go down in flames...;)
but as kaka malang said, I guess its more so the media's portrayl of an 'idea' and thus its importance 'culturally' to a society; but then if we blame it on the media, why is it that they chose to nurture us this way?
