Sure, and you can be a braggart and still be modest (?!)
If done in public, that’s not modest. If done in private, it’s no one’s business…modesty is exactly about how we relate to others and is not a concept that exists in isolation. So although it is an individual’s trait, it is a trait that is observed with respect to others, or even in one’s public conduct.
Now, modesty may not imply piety. That’s another story.
Don’t go to the beach, and if I did, I’d probably just wear different/no footwear.
Modesty in large part is about social context. It’s folly to suggest that there is ONE standard that we can all aspire to. We have our own, and regardless of what you think, we can quite consistently judge what is and is not modest with respect to it.
Now, why is it a good thing? One would be obtuse not to see the link betweeen modelling and selling sexuality. The analog to being a whore is not all that far off…
Now, mind you, modelling can be very respectful. That’s certainly not the trend in the West, and the Pakistani trend is to blindly follow the Western one.
If these women want to undress, let them do it in private with their clients.
It’s an individual choice, but involves behavior in public. Guess what, that means the public has a say. Roll with her in your own home, more power to you. I just don’t want to see pictures of it plastered all over the place or anyone suggesting or influencing society to suggest it is okay. I hate slippery slope arguments, but not putting one’s foot down and hiding behind notions of individual freedom simply grease up the ramp downards.
Control of the public space is really what this is about.

Hmm...then she can run for Miss England, or Miss USA but not Miss Pakistan then...right? I mean, I think it's perfectly fine for a society to regulate what it deems acceptable public behavior. USA does it...just try walking around naked. Meanwhile, in the Amazon it's perfectly normal.

Minerva: Exactly, every country has some laws, rules and regulations. If she wants she can run for Miss Alaska, for all one cares but we cannot make it sound as if its the violation of fundamental human rights of that individual, either.
