Why is the burqa being banned in Europe?

I personally do not, and have never worn one in my life. That doesn’t change the fact that there are millions of Muslim women who do, and in the interest of a free society, I support their right to do so. Unlike you, I don’t believe it’s the government’s job to tell women how to dress.

PS…you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. The French have made it clear that they are banning the burqa for cultural reasons, because it is “not consistent with French values.”

But I’m not surprised to be seeing bigots defending the actions of other bigots.

re to be bigots or not…muslims have all reasons to curb rights of other communities in their own states…but they oppose the same where they are in minority and talk of democratic values…

on some other discussions i am informed that burqa is just an arab tradition…has nothing to do with islam…why muslim community is so agitated…again to be bigots or not to be…
