Well thinking realistically here a big organisation like the UN should have no problem gathering a force of Neutral peace keepers from nations like the former Soviet Satellites and smaller highly efficent forces such as the Germans and Swiss, Indonesia and the Phillipines as well as South Korea are brilliant for this sort of role… no need to get the Yanks to wade in after oil.

As for Muslim countries what about Mali, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Turkey?

The only countries with any appetite to do something about it are european countries dependent on Libyan oil. And their interests are protected if Gaddafi crushes the rebellion ruthlessly, so they might just hold out.

I dont really value oil enough to care what the motivations the Yanks or anyone else has if they stop the loss of lives. Mali, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Turkey arent doing anything anytime soon.
