Because marriage has more to do with money and not so much sex in most parts of the world. Marriage is a legal contract under the law, sex is not.

Actually no it doesn’t. Marriage is a religious concept that is given legal cover. Because in France people can co-habitat and are given legal cover. They have rights in the legal sense. So no marriage is not purely legal.

Marriage is established my religion, the government gives it legal cover.

thats debatable.. women have barely any rights in those countries. secondly, women having multiple husbands has also worked in some cultures.
So if polygamy is allowed, then polyandry should also be allowed because its not fair to women cannot have multiple husbands. makes no sense how govt will allow a man to be married to multiple women who are also married to multiple men.

because those societies are unfair to women as it is. i find it very unfair that muslim countries allow men to have 4 wives, but doesn’t allow women to have multiple husbands. if you want polygamy here, then polyandry must also be allowed. and you cannot set a number as 4 just because thats the islamic allowance. people here can demand 20 partners. if you think law makers can come up with legal ways to legalize marriage between infinite number of partners, then you’re clearly delusional.

double standard is when you are in favor of polygamy but not polyandry. I defend what I feel makes sense.
And no, i dont support every western view. even today, many US states have not legalized gay marriage. do i support those states which have banned gay marriage? NO.
