So did Bhuttos. Mujib ur Rehman managed to wage a whole movement without twitter or Facebook. Imran was still a larger than life celebrity athlete and made Shaukat Khanom before social media. Of course there was a whole world before the arrival of social media. If you said things that made sense or achieved milestones, you were bound to gain popularity amongst public in the absence of free media, let alone social media.
