Why is musharraf alive?

Re: Why is musharraf alive?

that depends on the sort of case. an individual can take head of state upto courts, remember bhutto.

Re: Why is musharraf alive?

Law is different for Prime Minister & President :chai:

Either you are being sarcastic or you are an admirer of Nixon’s way of thinking.

As for Bush, can you be relative about Guantanamo Bay? Iraq could be a mistake but this was deliberate suspension of laws and allowance of cruel and unusual punishment for alleged criminals.

In any case, things work differently in the US. Politicians don’t get bumped off so easily as in Pakistan.

My argument has nothing to do with which and how many bad politicians should be taken care of, but that it may be justifiable to do so in one line of reasoning.

Why was Bhutto, Sadam Hussain hanged? Were they above the law? Are we back to a Divine Right sort of thinking?

The issue is the chaos that can result from getting rid of a leader in power otherwise ex-politicians are as dispensible as any commoner (sarcasm intended).

He was a cool dude, if you don't remember he got pardoned by his successor Gerald Ford.

Bhutto was judicial muder. Sadam Hussain by US-led forces a gift to Muslims on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha :)

Re: Why is musharraf alive?

Constitutions can be manipulated. Hence, the question of justice.

What Gerald Ford did is diplomacy. Again, question of justice.

Justice has its price? a question for another day.

Re: Why is musharraf alive?
