Why is it a problem? Question to females!

why does quite a few if not most muslim girls (i know about only views of many pakistani muslim girls so can not generalize the issue more) do not want to marry or dislike to marry a person who has beard?

Mod: you can move it to Religion Forum if in your opinion it is better suited there, however, i am just curious to know any reason, be it a religious or personal like or dislike and WHY? so, any answer should do BUT an honest one!

LOL gadha... the only one of my uncles with a full beard is married to a Roman Catholic woman...

..all of my uncles who are married to Muslim women are beardless.

Cuz it feels icky on the face - and it looks icky too.

Better suited for Family & Health :)

i dont have anything against beard....maggar muje mocheN bilkul pasand nehi....dari to waise bhi sunnat he...

i dont mind a beard at all if it is fashionably cut
i guess its the way someguys who keep beards dont really look after them and they grow all over thee place
waise clean shaven looks nice as well
s’pose it depends on the face shape :k:

I wont deny that I used to have a problem with the thought of a husband with a beard, however I no longer feel that way. Probably because a family member grew one and then I didnt think it was such a scruffy thing anymore.

Reason I didnt prefer it on a man before is because I felt beard would scratch my skin probably. Not to mention that a clean-shaven face looks more neat to me.

interesting very few replies .. hmmm

keeping in mind that my question was directed to 'muslim' girls, (Excpet mad scientist:D) i will have thoughts coming in my mind on the responses i got accordingly...

Dextor: sadly funny ironic situation to ponder upon rather to laugh at it:D

Xara: i wonder if the prophet (SAW) had a beard according to the fashion...

Sadi Sobi: Prophet of ALLAH (SAW) said that beard is the beauty of a man.

Coconut: what does beard have to do with Family & Health:D j/k:p

Larki Pakistani: apparently, moonchain (mustash) are also supposed to be trimmed and personally speaking your's the only reply made me feel happy.. Allah Bless you.

Munni: I liked your personally honest opinion.

May ALLAH give us Hidayah ... Aameen!

i dont think it really matters to many girls gadha bhai...ye aap ko kis ne kaha hae ke girls dont want to marry guys with beards? aisa toh bilkul naheen hae...in fact, beard is a sunnat, and if the person is keeping the beard for the sake of Allah swt, then masha Allah

irem: not every pakistani girl thinks like you... everyone is different... i know many situations when practically, beard has been the problem in the matters..

gadha, i don't like beards...personal opinion :)

Gadha, it's not the beard.. it's you.

note the red parts in the quote.....how do u bring these two things under one heading?

Maybe girls are just trying to use the beard as a polite way to tell some people they would rather stick their heads in a beehive than be with them.

moona: I asked why? i know you don't, I admitted it already in my opening post:D

PA:I guess u are right, I don't have one either. :)

NeSCio: Fashion changes by time! Beauty does not!

hey my fiance used to have a beard but he doesn't have it anymore...:D

Well I don't like any kind of beard whether it's short or long. Most guys look older than they really are plus it doesn't suit every guy..Even if my future husband looks good with beard I wouldn't want him to have it coz my skin is too sensitive to handle those 'thick' and pointed hair...:(

I think it was probably a cultural thing in Prophet(pbuh)'s times...nothing spiritual or religious I guess...

:k: thats what im saying…sometimes you see 18 yr olds that look like they are 40. i just don’t find it attractive…

perhaps the general attitude is, "if its for religion, it must be bad"....

no one likes beards, no one likes it if a man tries to keep his ankes uncovered, no one likes it if a woman persists on the use of hijab, etc etc....

may Allah guide us all to the right path....

no! even beauty falls under the 'changeable' items....because the criteria with which u judge beauty change over time and in different populations......and hence fashion too.

disagreed again based on it being relative.. here I was talking about the beauty in the perspective of Rasoolulah (SAW) thus beauty as defined by ALLAH and Rasool so the very definition given by them can't just change.
