I know this aunty who was telling my mom once about how her parents did a very smart thing by getting her and her sisters married to men with lighter skin and all the sons married to girls with light skin because now they have kids with lighter skin. She was very worried about the skin tone of her newborn granddaughter because her gora chitta son married a dark skinned Indian girl :hinna:

The thing about your rang is that you cant change it and just like beauty it is subjective. Not everyone Will find you kaali and not everyone Will find you gori either.
See for instance, I am BB 4-4,5 depending on the weather. In my family and friends, they would say I'm fair, but on Gs people with the same Foundation no. Are called sanwali or even worse when its a rishta auntie, kaalis.

I taught myself about kaaliness scale…that way i know which guppan is kaali…most common number is NC40 on GS.

Hey guys, my cousin sister just received a rishta from some distant relatives. One thing I couldnt help but be sick at was the guys mothers comment : " humeh toh gori chitti larki chaayeih, aap ki ghar ki betiyoun ka rang kitna saaf hai blah blah"
I just mean to say, what is with the Desi mentality of wanting girls with "gorah rang"?? Do other factors not count at all? e.g. education? Deen? etc

I actually prefer guys who are caramel/brown color because they have good features. Most often with very fair guys it's just colouring.unless they're Iranain .Then it's like features + colouring.

lol. I’ve got that. Palestinan.Turkish.Iranian.Lebanese. and they dont even blv when I tell them I’m pakistani which is 
because I think Pakistanis have lovely wheatish skin tone, features, large eyes ,thick lashes and lovely hair. even though all the girls i know are always complaining that their hair is **“falling”. **

i mean, there is no reason to like women with larger assets, larger assets aren't better at the function they are designed for...its just preference........ same is the case with color.
you wouldn't like anyone with a gigantic nose either......although there is nothing wrong with it either...
Those larger assets might produce more feed for the baby.

It's the legacy of white supremacy and the British were not the first perpetrators of it. Various groups migrated into South Asia from West Asia in ancient times and were decidedly fairer skinned than the natives they encountered. Each contributed to this view generally held by South Asians, that gora rang is better. The aboriginal dark skinned population of South Asia in a manner similar to how the Natives in America were conquered by Spaniards, were subdued and conquered by the various hordes of pale skinned West Asians. So this is why even to this day, there is correlation between skin colour and class in South Asia, where in each region, the darkest inhabitants are generally the lowest castes, and make up the bulk of the lower classes.
I personally find "fair skin" and "caucasoid" features unattractive - no offense to those that are, it's my just my taste based on a upbringing that made me very racially aware. I prefer darker skinned women, black african and dark chocolate brown skinned South Asian women, especially. So it's not true that "everyone" prefers "gora rang", but there are historical reasons for why the majority do in places like South Asia. It's not necessarily "natural", it's a consequence of the historic meetings of peoples and the power imbalances that developed.

Be it fair or non-fair colour..what attracts me in a girl is her features..in terms of appearance.

When you judge someone's appearance, just remember the Creator and how much He would dislike it if you dislike His creation. Allah created everyone differently and in a way that is better for that person and with so much love, so appreciate.
