Tagore was awarded Nobel Prize in 1913, but Allama Iqbal was not awarded the same. Here is the reason given by Committee for Nobel Prize.

As far as I remember Allama Iqbal has returned the title "Sir" protesting massacre at JalianwalaBagh. even Mahatma Gandhi doesn't have noble prize and I doubt if Mahatma would have accepted peace prize from maker of dynamite committee.

For Kobiguru, he was awarded nobel because of translation of Geetanjali by WB Yeats, his songs are national anthem of India and BanglaDesh and SriLanka's anthem writer was student of Kobiguru and anthem is based on Robindroshongeet:)

Even without Nobel Prize, Iqbal remained Iqbal and his poetry is popular not only in Pakistan and India, but also in Iran. The point is the reason for not considering him for this award, shows brassiness of the committee.

west and their awards always serve their own interests…only lack of fully developed and civilized east is reason that these awards are respected globally…:smiley:

I was talking about prestigious awards of east. Iqbal doesn't need any awards.

Real jihad must be against kafir occupying muslim lands......

and muslims should abandon this sectarian violence.....as muslims we cant get a separate state for each sect..........:D

even our ancestors and greatest saints never waged jihad against different sects......as far as i know.....

and we should follow shariah even if it hurts us then also....i heard that lot of pashtuns do not give their daughters proper share of property...then it means we are using shariah and not following it.....

lot of us are users of shariah instead of being follower of shariah....

as far as india is concerned muslims allowed lot of freedom so i dont see any need to wage a war against india.....:D
and there is too much muslim land occupied by non muslim forces that muslims should get reed of those foreign forces....
discussion about qadiyanis is not encouraged on this forum.....otherwise i have my own views....:D

but Indians are often blamed of occupying kashmir, a controversial muslim majority land:), freedom is equal for everyone, I mean, baat kehne ki azaadi lekin uske baad koi azaadi nahin:D and there should be jihad for reinstating minority rights in Muslim lands??
