Don’t blame just the politicians. We all are enjoying the fruits of illegal immigration. That burger and fries you get at McDonalds under $ 4 would not be possible if our politician has done something to stop illegal immigrants. It is an utter hypocrisy to critcize illegal immigrants while enjoying the amenities that come along with them.
A_S - True, one of the reasons people entering America should be legal is because of all the people who will take advantage of their fear and silence. It is not hypocritical to criticize their being here. The disadvantages of having illegals out weigh the one or two advantages.
MoA- Human rights doesn't entitle you to be in another country illegally. Human rights also don't entitle you to not follow the law of another country. It just means you must be treated humanely. It doesn't mean we do not have to take precautions against illegals nor does it mean that if you break the law that you will not be arrested and sent back to where ever you came.
^ I agree. That's what I initially meant, that they should be treated humanely and if they are breaking law and they are caught, they should be deported.
Another point is that our immigration policies are horrible, even those who are legal get fed up with dealing with all the bureaucracy and red tape end up leaving and forfeiting their chances for a good life here.
M_P, I disagree. The advantages of illegal immigrants out weigh the disadvantages. That's the reason our politician (both Republican and Democrats) and us (the people) don't want to do anything about it. America is what it is today because of immigrants both legal and illegal. McDonalds was just a small example. Just look around you. These undocumented workers are a vital part of our economy.

Corporations will pass this extra cost to consumer and public will ended up paying more for the goods and services. Then people who are belligerent about illegal immigration now will be the first one crying about inflation and high prices.
Anyone who thinks that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages may not seem to grasp the entire socio-economic picture.
Yes, a land-owner may get a cheap laborer to pick his cherries, so you can buy them from the supermarket @1.99/lb, but then that same laborer has five kids using public school system, they get sick and use public hospitals, and those siblings who don't get a job turn to crime. All these factors use our tax monies, which should be factored in, when estimating whether its a good deal or a bad deal for the country.
u’re delusional if u think corporations ‘pass on’ savings to the customer.. they just react to competition or loss of sales.. they are in this business to make money and more of it every year.. that’s their promise to their stockholders..
and raising prices only holds true if the biggest factor in their costs are employee salaries.. i’d think they spend more on Marketing..
