its true that guys have arranged marriages despite having a gf themselves. from what i know, guys pass time as they know that gf's these days are not marriage material. in an arranged marriage, girls are more decent and they think they are shareef, most cases they are. girls who become other peoples gf have no respect for themselves so how can they expect respect from their bf.
guys themseves have girl friends but also expect their wives to have had no bf at all. after all guys... you should marry your own gf otherwise you could end up marrying someone elses gf, and im sure you dont want to be marruing anothers gf.

I think I asked a question above in the sense that why blame man only?
If girl finds a better choice by arranged marriage she will not have problem leaving the bf and hence in dating relationship anything is possible. Do we think the girl will stick around? yeah! ;)
Its not like all men prefer arranged marriage it may be that gf is somehow not good enough and the girl who the parents found is.
A girl may do the same to a guy. So it goes both ways.

well in my observation, the guys who prefer arrange marriage over his gf(s) simply because they are not serious, ie think gf are not marriage material specially if they know their past and have physical relationship. that some how make them think that its ok to have gf but not a marriage material.

i don't wanna go into much detail but i can totally relate to this topic. so last year a guy i was quite serious with left me. yep. he totally dumped me for a girl his khala in pakistan chose for him and he said yes after seeing her picture. he was 31 and the girl was 19. he did it because it was the easy way out. he could've fought for me but he DIDNT. so from my personal experience i dont think the girl from pakistan was NICER or BETTER than me in any way..its just that he had the opportunity to get another girl and he went along with it. it was pretty selfish of him but im SO glad he did it, alhumdulillah i deserve MUCH better :)

If he really believed that his khala's choice was eventually going to be "what was meant for him".........then he shouldn't have started something with you in the first place.
He could have used the "it was meant to be" reason for his relationship with you. He could have said that "I was meant to have a relationship with Beeni....therefore I'm not going to screw her over like this." Why didn't he think like that???
Fickleness and cowardice....not a good combination. Anyhow....his dumping you cleared the way for you in finding better opportunities.

Same for me. Of course just because I don’t know anyone like that doesn’t mean it never happens. So my guess is that he was never serious with his gf to begin with.

Oh and also because of the numerous times he's tried to contact me ever since he got married in march. I've blocked his e-mail address and his aim screen name so he doesn't contact me anymore. The last e-mail i got from him was actually kind of funny..it was when he came back from pakistan after getting married. he e-mailed me apologizing for everything he did and was asking for forgiveness. i didn't reply back and then he IM'ed me and I blocked him without replying once again. loser lol i hope he feels guilty for the rest of his life

Probably because its easier to blame the parents if something goes wrong with their choice; however its vice versa if its their own choice!
