I remember this hotel near Hyderabad bypass, it didn’t have a proper building, just the makeshift type building. The food was cooked on woodfire and there were 5 or 6 “chaarpayees”. freshly slaghtered meat was the menu (you could choose the chicken for your karahi) and of course lamb.
It was a place truck drivers used to stop for dinner. (yeah not a suitable place to go with a family) BUT the fooood was absolutly fabulous.
and the FISH.. I mean if you go to riverbank (River Indus) just around maghrib time you can buy it directly from fisherman when he is anchoring his boat to river bank. Not like here, frozen since last 6 months.
and “PALLA” fish. I heard it’s over Rs 1500/fish now.
all of them.. oh yeah when you go there just dun act like Mr Brown (asking for forkes and knives etc etc ) otherwise kids in streets will gather around like this.. :hinna:
yeah the point is, doesn’t food there tastes different from what we get here? I mean the same recipe they follow here, but STILL it doesn’t taste like that.
I spend most of my time between Islamabad and Lahore so don't come across many dhabaas. I think I would stand out like a sore thumb even if I found a dhabaa....not that I know what I would be looking out for.
One thing that makes me puke though is makaan…I can’t stomach that…eee
It works both ways I guess here some things taste better and sometimes things taste better there. However, the standard of Asian food in restaurants cannot be compared with Pakistan…it taste so fresh…mmmm
Just look for little shacks with loadsa men in t-shirts and shalwars on hehehe sitting around a handi…
