Why faith in Islam?

Why do you have faith in Islam and not Christianity? (Or for Christians why do you have faith in Christianity rather than Islam).

Is it because the vast majority of you were born into it thus it was more of ‘this religion got to you first’ or does it go beyond that? What dictates your religion?

No cut and pastes please.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

It would be interesting to know the statistics of how many stick with the religion they were born into. I'd imagine it is very high, near 100% in some areas, particularly where such thins are culturally, socially and maybe legally discouraged.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

I bet 99% people stick to their parent's faith

When a kid is born, he gets 3 main things from his parents
1. Their Faith
2. The information that all other faiths are on wrong track
3. The arguments to convince others

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Initially from parents, now i am trying to study, if i am going to reject something than i want to make sure i am not wrong. So far Islam is satisfying me although questions arise from time to time which i have to look into. Nothing as yet has made me question my belief in islam

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Well said.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Unlike popular misconceptions, many Muslims read others' scriptures too...

And even if I was Christian, I would have chosen Islam anyway...

Read Deuteronomy 18:18 as to know why...

Re: Why faith in Islam?

all humans accept there is a some force or entity created this unverse
rest of relgious symbolism is learned and influensed by enviroment.
saudi and icelander cant think same way both are products of
different environment.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

All humans instinctually want to worship a higher being. I am not exception. Islam makes sense to me because the communication with God is direct without any intercession.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

My faith in Islam is because my heart is witness to its Truth. And that is ALL.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

One of the 99 Names of Allah :swt: is that He is Grateful…Who can Allah :swt: be grateful to? To His creation obviously, who very much is ingrateful…

Al-Shakur…The Grateful…
http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=117698

Grateful for what? Grateful for being steadfast, honourable, devoted, for listening, for obeying…And for every act of servitude, He makes up for it by untold bounties…The more devoted a servant, the greater the Bounty…

Some atheist once termed this approach, ‘The Carrot and the Stick’ approach…

Damn right it is!..:You:

Imagine yourself teaching two students…Whether it is maths, martial arts or Islam whatever…

One is an eager learner, who obeys you, is respectful and is devoted to giving his life for you…

The other is mistrustful, disdainful, disrespectful, uneager to learn kinda…

Who would you adore more? Who would you grant more points?

How many other religions claim of having a God that is Grateful to you for being good…

:subhan:

Wallah-o-Alam…

Re: Why faith in Islam?

And if you were born in a non-Muslim family…?

Re: Why faith in Islam?

^^ History is full of examples where people born in non muslim families, never found peace until they had witnessed to The Truth and became Muslims.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Make a search in internet and you will find many sites by former Muslims and reasons why they left Islam.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

It has nothing to do with parents. It is whatever you feel in your heart is right. No other person can ‘make’ you believe neither can they ‘force’ you to have faith.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

99.999% of people of any religion have faith in their faith because they are born into it. It is all compulsion in religion. Breeds intolerance, especially in those religins which need to validate their being by negating other religions. Shalom :flower1:

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Then why do some cultures have leaving a faith an offense punishable by death?

And why do people born into a faith have such a high percentage that stay with that faith?

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Compare the people who leave Islam, with the people who enter into Islam.

Compare those two groups and you will find a clear difference. One group leaves the religion in the name of secularism, rejecting the Truth and going into darkness.

the other enters Islam, in a state of submission, whole heartedly giving up to the Laws of Allah. These people have seen the Truth and they accept it.

People leaving Islam do not hurt Islam in anyway, they only hurt themselves.

Re: Why faith in Islam?

Because I was born into Islam but later I found out that my version of Islam has the least number for fairy tails and believe in a living God.

Though I am open to other religions and these days my interest is in the Native American religions. I have faith in them too.
