Why everyone hates pakistanis

Pakistan is not a country anyone can much admire, even YOU will have to admit that. It is ridden with militant religion, crippled by endemic corruption, and generally ruled over by dictators or crass incompetents. It exports extremism and seems incapable of standing by it’s principles, if it indeed HAS any. In general, when Pakistanis move to other countries in the West, they refuse to raise themselves to the standards of their host country, and become fully participating citizens. They are not alone in that of course, and I DO take each individual as he/she comes, rather than judging all by their country of origin or skin colour. My opinions are generalizations, but I think they are generally too often true.

looks like from the lot of English writers like Kamila Shamsie. In poetic words they say ‘jisse muhabbat ki jae usse ruswa nahin kia jata’. These so called well wishers of Pakistan, always see glass half empty. Its in fashion to bad mouth your country, without looking at yourself, what you have contributed.

I love Pakistan and I wished everyone else liked Pakistanis as well. However, Pakistan is now like the ugly, dysfunctional son a mother can only love. Sad but true, I hate admitting this but this is what Pakistan has become. I still hope we come out of this and shine at the top.

There is a difference between having actual problems in your country, “actual problems” and in dragging it into all discussions negative, purposefully or not. As somebody has stated its become like a dysfunctional son, have to say no mother would beat and batter and strip his clothes in public for what he has become and we are doing it worst than that and some genius folks who love to pin even those issues with it that are luckily non existent.

At times it seems as if there is a contest running as who is going to rip apart Pakistan more in discussions than the other.
And the statement ‘export extremism’. Well however true it is or not, we know the quarters this statement is mostly coming from.

This was an interesting part. Because the person doesn’t differentiate between Pakistanis inside Pakistan (with all the country’s problems) but views those in the west as equally ‘unlikeable’.

That’s why I see some Pakistanis call themselves as ‘Indians’ as they’re more respectable than Pakistanis. I even had heated arguments on the same issue with my own Canadian cousins who born in Pakistan and came here as young children but completely have negative views against Pakistan and it’s people. They think they’re smarter than people living in Pakistan.

I even had heated arguments on the same issue with my own Canadian cousins who born in Pakistan and came here as young children but completely have negative views against Pakistan and it’s people. They think they’re smarter than people living in Pakistan.

No matter how many problems there are I would never not call myself a Pakistani. I’m born and brought up in the UK and I am a proud British Pakistani. But that doesn’t stop me having issues with the way the country is going. I wouldn’t lie about my background.

Well I’m talking people about who born and spent some time of their life in Pakistan but now calling it names and making fun of it’s people. Nobody can deny the facts about the situation back there and I myself is not living there but still it’s my country so doesn’t matter where I live but I’ll always be emotionally attach with the country and it’s natural.

It’s possible that some of those people remember their time in Pakistan fondly but feel that things have changed and do not like what they see happening there currently. I’ve heard many older Pakistani people express a similar sentiment.

Also, I think people should keep in mind that while constant mudslinging and over-emphasizing a country’s problems does not help solve those problems, neither does being blindly patriotic and ignoring them. On that note, I think part of the reason some people have a negative view of Pakistani people is the defensiveness with which some people respond when being asked the simplest question about Pakistan.

Supporting your opinion with facts is one thing and I don’t think anyone is opposed to that. However, there are people who become quite defensive when anything is said about Pakistan that is not a glowing recommendation. I’ve even heard people deny that certain fairly obvious problems, such as corruption, exist.

Well, on this site I have quite some times been called blind patriot and emotional for no obvious reason. Simply because I presented a counterargument.

As for the latter part of your comment, true, but such people will always exist, anywhere and everywhere. It is not as if they make the majority of Pakistani people.
