I got an infraction worth 15 points for saying the following:
The thread was titled: “Image” of Allah swt
Now here’s my issue, everybody in the thread was clearly defaming Allah by givingit a physical description, which is shirk (by association). The above statement was my take on it. This wasn’t a direct assault on God’s authority! I wasn’t throwing insults here and there to prove a point. This was simply my perspective just as everybody else stated theirs. If I wanted to defame “Allah” I would have created a thread and dissed the hell out of him and then your infractions/ban would have been justified.
Joining this forum again was my attempt to understand my community’s POV on things. You have demonstrated the height of discrimination yet you complain about the ban on street prayers in the west! How about learning to see things from others’ perspective for a change? You want all the rights in the world, taking full advantage of the secular system yet you lack the very tolerance you blame the west for. The height of hypocrisy just amazes me!T
This is a friggin’ online forum! If a desi atheist can’t even voice her opinion here then why should someone like myself even want to attempt to understand yours? Why should ANYONE like me want to come here? Why should I call myself a Pakistani when Pakistan can’t accept me for who I am? I am not a criminal, I am not a theif, I am not a liar, I just have very different opinions. You do realize desis like me DO exist, right? You openly insult someone like me here but you won’t care to understand why I say what I say even if it’s a very watered down form of criticism. I did not offend anyone nor was I attacking your personal God and I will stand by that statement. Also, I didn’t come here with an agenda to turn you all atheists. I simply respond in the most respectful manner I know! I can’t help it if mere words hurt your tiny feelings. There’s a clear difference between someone who wants to spread malice and someone who is simply stating her opinion.<
Below is the ruke I apparently broke:
Maybe it’s about time you change your rules so we can feel we are part of the same community. Do not scrutinize us for our beliefs and do not punish us for voicing our opinions. You are really no different than those who discriminate against minorities in Pakistan. Why should I have to pretend I have nothing to say to be accepted by you? i have seen members openly insult/mock other religious figures here and their gods yet no action is taken against them. Why? because YOU simply don’t see it. Such comments go unnoticed because you don’t even stop to think that those comments could offend someone other than just yourself.
Anyway, thanks to those who listened to what I had to say without ridiculing me. I think I have said what I had to say and yes it was very emotional.
Can you please just ban me? I could totally use the time to do something more productive.
I am give you some honest advice. One of the few times I am not gonna be a dick. Everybody gets points. Why? Because moderators are humans. They take action depending on how they view the threads. There are certain mods you let me get away with murder. Others who infract me for a word. It is dependent on personal view points and how statements are phrased.
Secondly while you may not believe it, most of the moderators on this website share a good many of your views. Considering you are an atheist, you will find this to be true if you read the threads. As for your comments.
To clarify somethings. Do not confuse my Islamist view point with that of the moderators or the people who run this website. They are far from anything that resembles a political motivated Muslim. Most of the moderators who participated in the banning of street prayers thread supported your view point. So there is no discrimination. The same applies for the Secularism issue. A vast majority of the Poli Sci mods support your view point. So there is no discrimination.
And you and I both know comparing Allah to the devil was over the top. This wouldn't be respected on any religious website and by our very nature as Muslims such a comment is an affront to our faith and views.
Respect is both ways. Something I fondly quote. Freedom of Speech means you have the right to say what you want. Doesn't mean I have to listen to it or tolerate the stupidity you spout.

Again, that was my personal opinion I wasn't attacking someone else's opinion. And yes, respect is both ways. Respect my opinion and I will respect yours.. You don't see it as discrimination, I do.
Yeah some opinions are not worth mentioning. Also one thing you definitely have. Its the desi victim mentality. Oh noes. They gave me points for something I think its my right. Those *******s are out to get me because I am an atheist. Damn desis.
Respecting another's opinion doesn't mean tolerating disrespectful opinions - that's a critical difference.
And respect is not always given it's earned - engage in civil discourse and you will receive responses in kind. Don't assume that others are obligated to extend respect where is it not due - it is and always will be subjective.
If someone took offense to something you said it is their right . They got offended because you said something which is inappropriate in their opinion.
If you want them to respect your opinion , you should respect theirs too.
How difficult is it to understand this principle ? If you want it to be one way traffic where they respect your opinion and you say whatever you feel like it is not possible.
The people running these forums are not dumb they made their rules and are running these forums as per those rules. When you register you agree to obey the rules. If a rules is violated it is only them who can be the best judge of it. You have the right to disagree with their decision and register your protest which you are doing right now. But if they agree or not it is up to them.

Ok, this does make sense to me. Yes perhaps I failed to see how making that statement was completely unnecessary. O and trust me, I do not have the desi victim mentality. I am willing to admit my mistakes but I must see them as mistakes first. You just said it wasn't worth mentioning and you are absolutely right. It was a dumb thing to say on my end.
You have a great attitude. Please always feel free to tell us how we as moderators can improve. PMs would be better nahi toh people will start being mean to us !

It's pretty difficult. I guess I don't realize at times the impact of my words. And yes, indeed it is their forum so their rules apply.
No no, that’s not what I meant! And this wasn’t in my channel so you didn’t have to PM me anyway. I’m saying that please PM us when you have suggestions for us .
I’ll answer/clarify your complaint in short. Sometime when i’m doing something i feel inner in myself peace, confidence and enthusiasm (b’coz my mind accepted it as correct) but in view of others, what i’m doing is totally wrong hence it was only related to me not to them nor anybody else, still others found my behaviour/act unacceptable. Why? Am I offended others? No and I didn’t offended anybody but I wasn’t alone here. I was in a gathering with other members and yeah my act was against the discipline of gathering. That is what happend in your case.
I, among others fully aware what you meant by saying that, perhaps yours intention wasn’t to offend (as per your intellect) yet you were held for this as others found it wrong (maybe or maybe not but we moderators have to see beyond to that where and how it will going to be end) same as your comment at post#1 in this thread at first line you wrote “thread was clearly defaming” as per your mind but in fact it wasn’t defaming.
Moreover, why would I or any moderator of GS would like to ban you? In fact if we wanna ban you or any other non muslim member than our policy #3 would be like that “**Only for Muslim, Non-muslim are not allowed/authorized to join/post in this forum” **or maybe we wouldn’t have given privileges to any non muslim members to this particular forum (as many other online sites do). Hence, If I really wanna see you banned, why would then I contacted you via pm prior to issuance of an infration.
Lastly, we ‘Modz’ always welcome our members and we are here to guide/help them. By holding theirs hand and walk with them to show the right path.
P.S. If still you are not satisfy then you are welcome to contact me via PM.
