good propasition, but it would cost me dearly … cause they have escort arount them
I think indian gals are daring. Because driving bike requires lots of courage. Car is lot easier, idiots drive them all the time
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
Because modest, decent girls are not supposed to drive motorbikes?
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
And what was your motive behind this thread
A documentary on Doordarshan about Indian Working women .. .?
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes

Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
Driving Bikes requires you wearing jeans or shorts. So a lot more Indian city girls drive bikes than their pakistani counterpart.
and those who dont wear modern dresses drive scooties etc Indian auto industry makes different kind of vehicle.
Indian auto industry is very adaptive, it responds swiftly on cosumer requirements. You will see whole range of different types of vehicles just designed for females of all ages and culture.
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
Better question, why do women in Pakistan sit on motorcycles with both legs on one side? And better yet, how do they stay safe?

Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
oh boy.....
It was one of our "secret" agreements...my x
that we would get a bike a real cool one and drive around....lol
I think, it was a fantasy....caz we both rationalized our fantasy
that nobody could know it would be us as couple, due to outfit etc.
Nothing more I love then the air going through my hairs....and having a
high speed going....on a bike......oh boy.....oh boy.....
Damn, I would love to have a bike. Be real bad for once...lol Sick and tired of my own self chosen imprisoment ;-) C´mon dreams are for free, rite?
I know nobody would even recognize me of being of Pakistani origin...hehehe
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
it’s more abt convenience than merely being “daring”. it’s much easier to maneuver two wheelers through a traffic jam than 4 wheelers, much easier to find parking spots for two wheelers in crowded downtown areas..
i haven’t seen that many ladies on a proper motorbike in india… it’s mostly scooties and kinetic hondas… and i’ve seen women in all attire riding those - in SK, jeans and even sarees.
what concerns me more is that although many men wear helmets, not as many women wear them… pune gals have taken to wrapping their heads in a scarf, leaving only the eye area uncovered… and this is to protect their hair from the effects of wind and pollution
the first time i saw this phenomenon, i thought the number of burqa clad muslim women had really increased ![]()
here’s my friend in the goonda act..
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
Well thats right… but u dont wanna see the 'naada" of a girl while she is driving a bike ![]()
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
namkeen, does your friend do the arms-only shirt-sleeves? last time i was in india, i found women wearing funny removable sleeves that ran from shoulder to wrist to protect their desi skin from darkening (i think). :D
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
Planes are in the air…much above the nasty and uncouth people…so you see…
Waisey I guess its just a convention…there are no real reasons behind it…and my mom says that there was a time when driving bikes became a fashion for “modern” Pakistani girls/women…but then it faded…
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
Queer,
LOL no i haven't seen that yet! but it's exactly why my friend is wearing a long sleeved denim jacket in the picture, while clueless me went around in short sleeves! lots of girls on two wheelers are seen wearing an overcoat so that their outfit beneath it wouldn't get spoilt!
jokes apart, the sun is seriously harsh in the summer.. i love being in the sun and getting brown but somedays it was just too much!
Re: Why dont pakistani girls drive motorbikes
My sis works for Harley Davidson and (though we're not in Pakistan admittedly) she would love to have her own motorbike one day...!
Years ago when she visited Pakistan, she rode a bicycle in Jhelum and the neighbours were flabbergasted lol - she got such a telling off!
I would love to ride a motorbike, but I reckon it would be safer for all if I got a moped instead... :D

An even better question than that Sara,
Why is it considered "WRONG" for a woman to sit on a bike as the men do, one leg on each side...i think its soooo stupid...i never understood that crap....
