This past week, I sampled both and I have to say that Pakistani meals had balanced seasoning – not too spicy nor too bland. On the other hand, India food had too much salt, ginger and good knows what else. Spicy yes, flavor, not much!
One of the dishes was masoor ki dahl, you know the little black beans. Well, it had so much ginger in it, I could only eat a few spoonfuls. Now, I have had Pakistani masoor ki dahl, and also lentil soup made by non-desis, so much more yummier than the Indian concoction I had the other day.
quite right..
hmm I guess it also depends on the cook.. we used to have a cook who used soo much ginger in every item that we used to beg him not to put so much..
may b it was the same cook
LI, Pakistani cuisine is great, but I love South Indian specialities which you can’t get in Pakistan like dosay and idlee The best masala dosa I had was in Dubai (closest I could get to South India) I like gujerati food too, love the way it comes in a thali.
Post pictures of a dosa and idlee. I bet there some thalay wala in Pakistan who’s getting rich on selling improved Pakistani version of dosas and idlees.
