I understand the fact that some atheist are bothered by the fact that religious people condemn them to hell but why must they act the same way? They call religious people hypocrites,but what about them? They complain about the bashing and condemning, yet they insult religion ,sometime with the need to use foul language . That’s very hypocritical in my opinion.
I am not saying all atheist or all religious folks are same or behave this way. It is my observation some people might have different experiences than I do. I personally respect everyone’s religion and I don’t condemn or insult what people believe. I think doing either one is very hypocritical.
You have left religion , you do not believe in religion , it is useless to you, just leave it alone then.

Not when your entire self is surrounded by religious people
Not when religious people harm others in the name of God
Not when you have to live your life in secrecy
Not when you have to feel you have no voice
Not when the punishment for apostasy is DEATH
Not when nonreligious minorities are persecuted by religious leaders for something they consider of blesphemous nature
Not when you post a damn opinion on an open online forum with a solid explanation backing it up and still receive infraction points or a ban. (This is what provoked me to create the other thread)
ALL of the above leads to incremental offenses towards NONRELIGIOUS people. All of the above leads to unnecessary and completely aviodable crimes against humanity. All of the above leaves no room for human development.
Just because it's useless to me doesn't mean it doesn't affect me.

its all about the belief............when people do believe in something..........they tend to have this behavior........... religious folk's belief in their religion/god makes them act out...........and similarly the atheist's belief in absense of God makes them do that again..........

I am not bashing religions. I don't need to but if I see someone being harmed because of religion, I will speak up. and there's plenty of that happening in our society. Atheists honestly don't care about religion but they live in a world full of religious folks so obviously it affects them too. It's hardly about their sense of superficial intelligence (funny how most scientists are atheists, superficial intelligence right?). A lot atheists are are atheists because their parents had no belief system.
For me, it's about being rational and humane. Religions ask you to follow their doctrine no matter how irrational it may sound. Indoctrination and rationality don't go together. obviously it doesn't mean that all religious people are irrational. We are meant to be rational, we are humans.

And you think all atheist are angels , they do not wage unnecessary wars (Russia) , they do not discriminate (Russia , Cuba , China ), they do not subjugate other under their thumbs (Russia invaded Poland , Czechoslovak, Afghanistan) , they do not send those to Siberian labor camps or make them stand in front of firing squads who chose to adopt other philosophy (Russia , China , Cuba) , they do not resort to canibalism( Jeffery Dhamer) .
No religion teaches what you are implying above it is humans themselves who are at fault. It is like they say guns do not kill people , people kill people same is true for religion.

and many wars started for 'rational' self interests of some powrful people..........
for example...now are you going to say Iraq War was waged by americans to their chiristian beliefs?? To me it seems more of a case of ''rational benefits'' of securing oil supplies and maintaining political influence...regardless of the religions involved...
or the genocides in combodia and africa were due to religious differences??

Btw, not trying to cause another debate, indoctrination leads to more violence especially in today’s world. So whether a religion teaches to wage war or not, conflict/violence is inevitable when two or more religious parties live together. Is it anything to wonder about that Pakistan is NOW 98% muslim?
Humans are territorial like most animals, war comes natural to us but being the intelligent beings we are, we should be able to defeat the urge to wage war against others.
It is not atheism that’s shoved down others’ throats, it’s religion. No one’s born muslim or christian. The fact that you don’t give your children the freedom of choice is completely irrational and mentally abusive. Why shouldn’t I care about that? if I see 3 year olds reciting Kalma and being told that everything is created by Allah, I see it as brainwashing. There’s no way a child will grow up to believe that if he/she isn’t taught that from an early age. I would be guilty of the same crime if I told my child there’s no God.

the religion card in various twisted political scenarios seems the easiest option for govts and authorities. Why? Because people cannot either refute a point if it is based on someone's belief or it plays with a large number of people's sensitivities.
So most of the times there's always been an inner motive in combat wars, genocide etc and religion ultimately was given the bad name.
For an atheist being outside the entire circle is easy to judge what's going on inside and blame everything on the beliefs and religions that led to wars, massacres etc but that still doesn't give anyone a right to bash any religion.
When I say I am an average Muslim (striving to be a practising one) I am more concerned about religious tolerance as well as love for Allah and His Prophet SAW. At the same time I wouldn't dream of comparing any of the hindu gods, books or any of the other religions to being equivalent to *crap *or use any derogatory words for them. So if someone actually comes and starts dissing my religion and my beliefs that would *obviously *hurt me.
I would classify myself as someone downright stupid to go to an all Hindu forum or gathering and start bashing them for their practice of satti, burning of the dead or their vegetarianism. Despite the satti practice being deplorable on humanity grounds. Common sense!

So as example the secular government in the world has been involved in so many wars with so many deaths
we had veitnam war, gulf war, gulf war pt II, afghan and iraq war so many people killed how they can defend this they can't so simple example you bring to discussion and see their response.

You dont have to be religious. But you need to be spiritual. It's only natural. There is no other way to live. Humans are a part of God too.

God is even closer to us then our mother, he is within us, our spirit is His breath. He is always there, but we build walls between us and Him. God is nothing but Love. His wrath is only for evil people, people who hurt his creation.
For God, humans will always remain the baby, humans are created weak, they need supreme help.

Umm no. I wonder what kind of atheist you were when you were one. I do believe religion is evil but I DO NOT believe it is the root of all evil in the world. You can debate whether we are born evil or innocent. It's up to you to pick what you believe. We can argue that human race is inherently evil or we can argue that our race is inherently good and something turns us evil as we mature- be it our culture, religion, community, parents, school etc etc. The problem is even religious people are so divided in their belief system, it's impossible to lump them all together. It would make no sense for me to consider them all evil when each of them believes in a different interpretation of their holy scripture. This is where it gets dangerous. People do what THEY believe and their drive and devotion to cause harm (to them it's equivalent to glorifying god) is fueled by the religion they believe to be true. I have come across muslims who believe in evolution and believe that Eve and Adam were not actual humans, they were just ROOH. Their interpretation seems to fit the theory of evolution so that's what they believe. I have muslims relatives who will not shake hands with a nonmuslim because their interpretation of Quran teaches them that you cannot befriend a Kafir.
