Properly done zabiha and properly cooked, there is far less danger in other halal animals compared to pork.
Thats the extent of our scientific knowledge that supports the orders in Quran and even in Bible. What the logic behind it is might be a bit higher than the understanding that we can never posses. Hence, at times, when you know that Quran and Hadith have hundreds of commands that better our lifes for us, then following blindly those that we dont exactly understand is not such a wrong thing, and can be respected.
I learn from people. Sometimes my teacher can tell me to do something a certain way when I think that 'my way' is better. But I still follow the teachers way until that time when logic presents itself clearly as to which way is better.
