Wearing contacts that look plastic and fake is like wearing that aata type foundation that does not match your skin tone - horrendous!
It’s tricky to get the right contacts for brown/dark brown eyes and I’m sorry to say even our celebs and models get it wrong usually. Just because someone isn’t asking you if you’re wearing contacts doesn’t mean they look real, perhaps people just prefer not to tell you how fake/scary they look.
Not flattering at all. If you want to wear them, make sure they look nice in real and in flash photography. Just like you don’t want to wear a high SPF foundation when you’re going to be photographed because you’d end up looking like a vampire. If I was buying coloured contacts, I’d go for the range called Solotica Hidrocor as it seems to be the most suitable for brown eyes. Plenty of videos on these on youtube:

Funny, only those who wear contacts think they enhance their looks and those who dont think of them as the biggest fraud perpetuated by the cosmetics industry. Personally I have no infatuation with light colored eyes to even bother trying them. And just because some women wear 200 pounds of make up and no one says anything doesnt mean all are appreciative of their looks.
And please Arab and Persian women are probably the biggest drag queens on the face of the planet (at least the celebrities I have seen, including that Claudia chick) with their silly overly done smoky eye make up and blondish hair. Those Farnhooshays always forget their that huge honkers and light hair dont go together.
Really? I've worn enhancers in the past but don't wear lenses at all now.. My eyes are naturally pale but like a lot of girls when I was younger I loved to experiment.. clothes, hair, makeup.. where's the harm in it?
Why the need to insult and put people down when they post their personal pics on a forum (I'm talking about 'normal' people, not celebs) and those same ppl who love to dish it out are often the same ones who complain about 'personal attacks' when someone actually answers back (not aimed at you, just something I see a lot on GS).. Some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and remember how they'd like to be treated..

What I was trying to say was that the opinions in this thread swing from one extreme to the other (mine probably came across the same way :D). Personally, my aversion to colored contacts is because I find its almost along the same lines of desis not being content with their skin tones. Why are blue\grey\hazel\purple eyes anymore appealing than dark? Lets admit it, a bit of this experimenting has to do with wanting to project the image that media equates with beauty.

i think they can look quite obvious at times on some people. However on some people coloured eyes look great! and even better then their natural eye, then i think its ok to wear. eg kristen stewart looks better with brown eyes. but in the end its the persons own choice and i won’t judge them what they choose. ;p

that's a good question. I don't know. maybe it's just wanting something a bit different than what you're used to (dark hair/dark skin).
(Obviously) i'm all for colored contacts. but....the thing that bugs me is that some wear it fo the wrong reason. Seriously, I have seen WAY too many desi girls trying to wear them to MATCH THEIR OUTFITS. now THAT is the height of tackiness and beauty no-nos!

and re: dark skin + colored eyes…I know it’s a dude but unelss someone can find a female counterpart to this…this was teh closest thing I could find that explains just how sexy dark skin + light eyes can be.

The dude is hot, light eyes or no light eyes! 
But its the issue of considering someone beautiful simply because of the color of their eyes is what I have an objection to, just like how some people do it with light skin. Would you find him any less good looking if his eyes were dark?

Colored contacts can flatter a person but still not look “real”. And I’m not sure why that’s a bad thing. 
When women were red or most other colors of lipstick…does that look “real”? When we wear nail polish, eye shadows, eyeliner, blush etc…no matter how flattering the color is…does any of it look “real”? Yet I don’t recall hearing comments in other threads about make-up being bad is b/c it doesn’t look “real”. So why is it a bad thing if you can tell if colored eyes aren’t “real”?

Because nail polish doesn’t make you look like a demon. Look at Nadia Hussain’s picture that I posted above, she looks possessed. Here’s another one, for your viewing pleasure. =D Makeup disasters can happen with eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliner, eye lashes, foundation etc too. Bridal eye lashes are never going to look real but they look beautiful when done right. Now if you started wearing fake lashes like Chloe Victoria (google her), then we have a problem. Full, heavy face makeup is also never going to look like your real skin but it looks pretty unless you decided to make yourself 10 shades lighter. So it’s not about making sure no one can tell that you’re wearing contacts/makeup, but about getting it right.

People can wear whatever they want, I couldn't care less. What bothers me is when they try to pass it off as their natural eye colour. Err nah mate.
Would I wear coloured contact lenses? No. That's just my personal preference, I actually like my dark eyes and I don't feel the need to "experiment" with different looks when it comes to them at this moment in time.
Oh and the dark skin + light eyes combo is definitely hot.

Hmmmm honestly, I dunno. I’d probably not give him a second look–he’d be attractive even with dark eyes but not in the “omg WOW–second look!” kind of way. With that said, if I were single and came across a guy like this, dark eyes or no dark eyes, I wouldn’t reject him right away
